My favorite coffee shop on the island! I have visited multiple Kai locations and love them all! Kapahulu is always a great visit. With Kai Coffee they care about their guests and you can quickly become family! This may only be a walk up window but that does not make the quality of service any less. Each time I go they call me by my name, and I by theirs. Just the other day one of their team members saw me walking down the sidewalk and passed me in their vehicle shouting my name to say hello. While the staff is super nice here, the product is not. The banana bread is super dry, overly sugary, and overpriced for the quality. They also told me they can’t heat it up but have a huge facility, so why no toaster? The matcha I ordered was essentially coconut milk with a hint of matcha flavor, but felt like I just ordered a cup of cold coconut milk- but I didn’t want to waste the $13 so I still drank my milk and ate my dessert. My favourite place for açai bowls and great coffee! Conveniently set up with takeout counter which is great for early hikes and road trips. We have gone back 3+ times during our stay.
