Our first time trying the 6 Pounder from @kickin_kajun. You get a Live Dungeness Crab, a Live Lobster, 1lb Snow Crab Legs, 1lb Shrimp, Live Manilla Clams, Crawfish, Mussels, 4 Corn, 4 Potato and 6 Sausage. . It's $177 but we thought it was worth it. We got our seafood fix and had enough food for two days. What's crazy was the Crab Miso was so clean it looked and had the texture of Chawanmushi. Check it out at the end of our video. . Hit the ♥ button if you'd order this and don't forget to share this video with a fellow seafood lover. . #HawaiiFoodReviews #HawaiiFood #SeafoodBoil #KickinKajun #Seafood #HawaiiRestaurants #FoodReview #Eater

After reading reviews and doing my research. We tried The Boiling Crab a few nights ago and this place states they are “better” than the restaurant we ate at a few nights prior. We showed up and I stated we are only here because of one reason and showed them their statement and the man said oh yes definitely. Now with that said. I ordered a coke and my daughter just got a water. Unfortunately the coke was flat with little to no comparison to The Boiling Crab which had a vibrant taste of bubbly carbonation as a Coke should. We decided to share the snow crab combo with their mix seasoning and mild spice. When we got our bag I first noticed the lack of sausage and potatoes compared to the direct competition aka The Boiling Crab. We then dug in and noticed the sausage was very dull on spice and again The Boiling Crab won again on flavor and plenty in the bag. The snow crab was good and I’ll give them one thing the Shrimp was better. The entire bag had very little seasoning on the bottom which I enjoy dipping my bite into the seasoning which there was very little again compared to the competition. The rice they only give one scoop of compared to two scoops again at the competition. We left not feeling complete and was actually going to go and give our business to the The Boiling Crab to finish off our hunger but chose not to because we didn’t want to over do it. So overall, I’m disappointed that a company would directly target their competitors without having real tasteful and plenty of food to back up such words. The lack of food and lack of seasoning and spice was a shame. Again this is compared to The Boiling Crab. Last but not least, something I find that’s taboo is posting or stating to a customer that they have a certain amount of time to complete their meal. Which they have posted 90 minutes on their pillar. I find that unprofessional and distasteful. In no way shape or form am I attempting to bash this restaurant. This is my complete honest opinion when it comes to Cajun food and crab, I’ve had plenty of it in my 46 years of life to make a judgement or taste and feeling complete after dinner.

The young guy server(Troy) discriminates Asians. We are from mainland and Asians(not native). This is the 6th time visit to Kickin Kajun. It was the first time server put us tip 18% automatically without noticing us without any service. In US, most restaurants put 18% tip automatically if the party has more than 6 people. but server should notices them before they order also it mentions on the menu too. Of course if they will put 18% gratuity, the server should give a good service with their best. but He never checked our table and did not give us good service at all and put us 18% auto tip. He thought we are from other Asian countries to Hawaii and do not speak English and will not know what he does to us. This is the 6th time visit to this place and no one put us 18% tip before. When I put the tip, I noticed the total amount is huge. I called him asked why he put us the 18% tip and he told me the restaurant now changed to do this to customers. I asked him do you put 18% tip automatically without noticing to local customers also? and he said yes. :(( He never said sorry to us and I asked him to refund my credit card charge with 18% tip and bring the new check. The points are He put us 18% tip without noticing us because we are Asians and we look Asians. I already felt bad because He did not come to our table to get our order. I called him to order and to get our check. because he never checked on us. After female dropped to us the food, no one including our guy server did not come to our table asking how the food was. No water, no straws. etc After we finished our food he made us to wait for 10minutes to get our check. I was holding my credit card but he ignored. He never checked our table. so I called him again and he never smiled to us and was angry. He did not give us any good service I think because he will put 18% auto tip anyway to Asian customers. Tourist from other Asian countries will not know that he does put 18% auto tip then they will add more tips and pay him double tip somehow. I felt so bad for him. Do i need to give him a solution? He needs to find out. If other country people do not know about the tip culture, explain them before they order how to tip and give them good service!! Do not put 18% auto tip without noticing without any service because customers are Asians.

I and my husband always visit this place and were satisfied food and service before but the guy severe ruined our happy...

THIS REVIEW COMES FROM A PERSON THAT ASSIST TO KICKIN CAJUN ONCE A WEEK, SOMETIMES TWICE A WEEK. READ.

My believe is that management it's absolutely trash and here is why, the food is bomb so the people preparing the food are great, the servers are very friendly and very attentive, I always order the snow crab legs by the pound with kicking cajun sauce, spicy level. HONOLULU LOCATION ARE SCAMMERS, they give you only 1 cluster plus one little crab leg and call it. It has happened to me 5 times already and yes I know, why 5 times? I live in aiea and it's the closest one to me so my believe was "hopefully this time they get it right" but nope, now I only go to the one in KAPOLEI, I go there once a week, sometimes twice a week, I love crabs from kicking Cajun, KAPOLEI LOCATION give you 2 clusters for snow crab per pound. I can only imagine how they do to people when they order other more expensive food like King crab, aligator, etc.

Conclusion on why management? my 4th time going there I sat down and I spotted the manager, which is a asian lady in her 50's She was the one taking my order I asked for lemon she said she didn't have so I never got it, then a server came to ask if everything ok, I asked him for lemon and he gave it to me right away ??????

the 5th time I order 2 pounds of snow crab legs because I knew they were going to tax me again (scam) lol. It was a take out order, when I took my bag and went to my car I forgot to ask for lemon, I went back inside and asked the server for lemon, he was going to get it and the manager, she heard me from far away and told the server, you gotta charge him for that, I was like Ms. I just spent 85$ for one person and a take out order, since when you guys charge for lemon? she said for take order they charge, the employee sadly looked at me and put back the lemon, and I just shaked my head and left. Since then I haven't return to that location, I won't return and I Don't recommend anybody go there. I prefer driving to Kapolei location now.

I actually took the time to took pictures and compared to kapolei.

I hope people above this people at kickin cajun will read my review and improve and get this right. I would only return to that location if they give me back the other cluster they always missed and...
