As an elite member for Marriott they offered me a 25% discount to try one of the restaurants in the hotel. Usually this is because the food costs much more simply because of convenience. So I decided to walk downstairs to the Kuhio Beach Grill. When I entered I was seated towards the back of the room. Was there something wrong with flip flops, shorts and a t-shirt? This is Waikiki Beach after all... So after some consideration and seeing the full menu I opted for the Wednesday Asian Buffet. I would guess there were over 30 quality items, excluding desserts. I did my best to sample much. I had a salad, a slice of prime rib (very good), Lemon chicken, teriyaki tidbits, steamed rice, fish & a shrimp. then I ordered and drank my first mai tai and had desserts. The regular buffet price is $24.95 monday thru friday. Considering this is an "All you can eat" it is very valued. The food is very well prepared, heated and the staff are the friendliest I have met during my week stay. Give it a try, you won't regret it.

Great service, good food. We had free continental breakfasts for two due to Marriott Bonvoy Titanium status. The kind server explained that the continental breakfast (see menu) is valued at $14. We may order that, or apply the value to any other items we may wish to order. We stuck to the continental breakfasts, but ordered a hot chocolate $5 for our daughter. We had enough foresight to have our second continental breakfast boxed up (we are not big breakfast eaters, usually just coffee), and split the one meal, which was plenty as I was going on a Koko hike later. The banana bread (they were out of Taro rolls) was delicious, the papaya was fresh, sweet and fragrant with the squeeze of lime, and the granola yogurt was perfect and not overly sweet. Overall a very good experience, and we’ll be back again for our complimentary breakfast.

A few months ago, I stayed at the Waikiki Beach Marriott for the 2nd time. One of the highlights of my stay was dining at the Kuhio Beach Grill. This restaurant provides a relaxed yet refined dining experience with a view of the beach offering a front-row seat to Waikiki’s sunrises if you're having breakfast. The breakfast is generous and very well thought out in terms of variety, but the true standouts are the sticky buns and the POG (pineapple, orange, & guave) juice. The sticky buns are warm and not overly sweet, but just enough to feel like a guilty pleasure. Sticky buns and POG are a great way to start the day.

If I could give 0 stars, I would. My mother and I decided to go here to eat breakfast as we got two free dining tickets. As soon as we got seated, we set out for food and when we came back, our waitress suddenly told us that we needed to pay $17 extra each. We had apparently taken from the side that is not included in the free meal when we were given NO instructions or guidance.

  1. The whole system is a ploy for more money. They prey on their customer to stumble upon the elite side of the food and blame the ridiculous price upon them after they return to the table with their plates.

  2. The service was the worst I have ever seen. Sue, who was waiting our table, was very condescending to us. We admit that it was ‘somehow’ our fault in not knowing but she could’ve told us nicely. Instead, she spoke as if we’ve committed a crime and treated us like lowers.

On the brighter side, they did let us off for one day because we had barely touched anything.

If anyone wants to go, make sure to never touch the side that is not included in the meal and check the name tag of...

Great food, bit expensive but the waitress Alexis didnt know how to talk to talk to customers. She rolled her eyes and said "honey I can't read you the entire drinks menu. Just tell me what you want we have the usual breakfast drinks." when my mom requested to know what drinks they have. We had no clue what "breakfast drinks" meant. I requested again few minutes later to get us the drinks menu and she rudely said "wait wait wait wait" and proceeded to grab a drinks menu from another table where guests were seated without asking them if it's ok to take it from their table. When we asked of we can get a to-go buffet for our baby who didnt eat much she said "customers like you guys abused the take out option for buffet. They were idiots" which wasn't appropriate. I know she was just explaining the situation and rules but the way she said didnt sound well. She also touched my baby's hair without my permission, she didn't mean anything bad but and was admiring it but still I believe it isn't inappropriate to touch someone's baby without the...

I recently dined at the Kuhio Beach Grill’s buffet in the Marriott Waikīkī, and it was an absolute disaster. The au jus steak was completely inedible—the meat itself was so fatty that it couldn’t be enjoyed at all. For the price charged, this level of quality is unacceptable.

The turkey was no better. While I avoided it, my husband ate some and ended up feeling sick later that night. It’s alarming that a meal from a well-known restaurant could cause such discomfort.

The desserts were just as disappointing. The selection was uninspired, and the flavors were bland and forgettable. It was clear that no effort was made to offer guests a proper dining experience.

The only positive aspect was the service. The servers were attentive, friendly, and professional, but even excellent service couldn’t make up for the subpar food.

Given the exorbitant price of this buffet, I cannot stress enough how much of a waste of time and money this was. Avoid Kuhio Beach Grill at all costs—you’ll thank yourself for choosing...
