My mom and I haven’t seen each other in over a year now and we decided to meet up in Hawai’i for vacation. We had an incredible time, and one evening we thought we would go back to the hotel restaurant where we’ve been several times throughout our stay and grab a quick drink. This lady came up to us after we’ve sat down for a while and asked for our IDs. I explained we had left our IDs in the room and that we live here and has been here several times over the last few days and had gotten drinks before. Instead of letting us know she maybe does not feel comfortable serving us drinks without IDs, which I would’ve understood, she was extremely aggressive and told us even herself gets asked for ID all the time, and so does her son who is 26. These were information I did not ask for nor need. I was triggered and felt like she was aggressively trying to prove a point and was picking a fight on purpose. The hotel elevator has been very difficult to get on for some reasons for the past few days and we would really rather not go through the whole hustle and go back up for it. Again instead of being understanding of this situation and that EVERYBODY is here on vacation, she was persistent and ready for an argument, even after I suggested that we were willing to show photos of our IDs to prove that we were definitely over 21 if we don’t look it already. While I understand her diligence, the aggressiveness was unnecessary, and uncalled for. The hotel restaurant is always a big reason why we chose to stay anywhere. We eventually left in an awful mood. Nobody came to Hawaii to fight a hotel restaurant server over something this minor, if I was looking for random fights over my age I would’ve stayed...
Read moreThis restaurant has a 3.5 rating for a reason. There seems to be a lack of management overseeing both the restaurant and its staff. Many customers complain about the long waiting times, and unfortunately, this complaint holds true. The service is very poor, especially when you're seated and no one comes to take your order promptly. Even after placing your order, it takes an excessively long time to receive your food, which arrives cold since it's apparently prepared in another building. Additionally, the drinks here are diluted, likely with minimal alcohol content, and they expect you to pay extra for a shot to make them stronger. This isn't ideal, especially for vacationers seeking a good time; they may opt for other options or the ABC store. Both my wife and I ordered fish tacos, only realizing they were raw towards the end. We both fell ill, and there was no manager in sight to address the issue. Our waitress, Chevelle, did her best to apologize, but it's perplexing to get sick while on vacation at a Marriott resort restaurant with no managerial presence. Perhaps they should consider temporarily closing the restaurant until they can effectively manage their kitchen and staff. Even though they offer live music, it doesn't compensate for the overall poor experience. Lastly, the food options and selections on the menu are subpar, worse than what you'd expect at a regular dinner...
Read moreThe reason I’m giving this rating is because the service is so unprofessional. My first night here on Waikiki my family and I joined and our server at first was incredible. Gave us water and sat us down fast and was very efficient. Second time my sister and I sat down and waited for 15 minutes without even being recognised from anyone. A nice “hello how are we doing today” would be great along with “ here’s some water and menus to get you started someone will be right with you”. My sister and I finally got served from someone after waiting and it was not the best. I have worked in customer service for 5 years and this was very unprofessional. I came again for some food and the same thing happened. One server said she would be right with me and another came and didn’t even bring me water or a menu at first. The service here is not the best and the food is ok. please work on your customer service and not just ignore customers who come in and wait and see. Trust me. It is nice to see the...
