From the moment we walked into The Indie Shack, we were greeted by Sam—the owner—with such warmth and genuine interest. He took the time to get to know us, asked where we were from, and even what we do. That personal touch set the tone for the rest of our visit.

We ordered smoothies and the avocado toast, and let me just say—the avocado toast was hands down the best I’ve had since arriving on the island! Fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented.

What really made our experience memorable was the top-tier customer service. Sam didn’t just serve food—he took the time to walk us through a local map and shared awesome recommendations on must-see spots around the island.

I love Sunrise Shack! This location is conveniently located in Kapahulu next to Leonard’s. There is a small parking lot next to it but also street parking is available. But make sure not to block residential driveways! I ordered the “I Lava You” bowl today which was tasty but my favorite to order is the “Blue Dream”. Ate here twice on our trip! Really good coffee, we got both hot and cold. They also offer bullet coffees. They have a smoothie bowls, and the Monkey bowl is what we got both times!
