Me and my family went to Hot Springs Arkansas to celebrate my sister birthday. So we was walking downtown we went to a few stores down there. My sister was hungry so we was wondering where we was going to eat. We ended up in front of Ohio Club and the man at the door was telling us how good the food was but the restaurant next door had a rooftop restaurant so we was about to go there. But the man at the door really made us change our minds because he kept saying how good the food was. So we go in they set us it was seven of us. We setting a lady come up and let us know she will be our waitress so we like okay. Then we began to tell her what we wanted when we done letting her know she leave and and man come up to us I’m not sure if he said he was the manager or the owner but he introduced his self and said if we need anything, let him know we like OK and left it alone. We sit in there we waiting on our things to come to our table. He come back again. He like y’all OK everything all right we like yeah not paying any attention to why he keep coming to our table so I think we sat there for like an hour before we got our food. We get our food he come back again. Y’all OK everything OK food good we like yeah everything OK. Food is good He like OK let me know if y’all need anything. So we get our food. A big family came in the band about to start we eating Everything going well the band started and she says happy birthday to everybody she sings another song. It was nice. All of us get done with our food we pay we give a tip. Then the manager or owner comes back over he whispered to one of the guys who was with us and say I’m not trying to rush you all, but how much longer will you all be here? Excuse me why would you ask that and we have paid our money and sitting here listening to the band. So my cousin husband like you know what we about to just go on and leave I ask what’s wrong he say I’ll just tell everybody when we get outside at that point me and my husband like what’s going on. So we all get outside and my cousin husband say the manager or owner whoever he is ask was we done and how much longer will we be in there. We are all like really that was so rude of him after we done spend our money an tipped we wasn’t causing any trouble or anything like soon as we made it there he didn’t want us in there. I don’t know what happened. I was just confused why he treated us that way I would never go back there again. Why would you treat people that way when they’re being pleasant and nice to you we gave tips and everything I feel...
Read moreI am a Big Foodie here, traveling all over and we are from Texas and apparently we are spoiled because we are use to the TX size severing for the most part But if that’s what you’re looking for the Ohio Club is not the place for a large meal. The atmosphere and the vintage memorabilia was great but for the portion sizes compared to the price tag, you are not getting the best bang for your buck. My husband and I we got an order of fried pickles. They were ok, they were good not the best that we’ve ever had but again a very small portion. After looking at the menu, we decided to get one burger and share it and go somewhere else later, for a larger meal. The Southwest Burger was great, good flavor, meat was juicy but my husband having his half of the burger he ate it in three bites and it was gone. He named it the “Tourist Burger” lol. We mainly wanted to go because we talked with a really nice employee that works at the Arlington and she talked about how there was a certain popular burger there that she likes and it has a type of strawberry jam served on it, I had every intention to get it while we were there, but when I saw it was $25 I could not make myself pay $25 for a single burger but maybe next time tho. I understand costs are high trust me, we are business owners ourselves but for seeing the size of the burger that we got for 18+ dollars it seemed that I made the right decision. I can see that a lot of people mainly go there to drink and that’s all well and good if that’s what you want to do and listen to a bands then that is most likely the place for you to go, but if you’re wanting a substantial meal I would try Rolando’s up the street. That is actually where we went after we did some shopping when we left the Ohio Club. Our server Megan was super sweet and very helpful. She put up with us with all of our questions and we appreciated her. Our order Consisted of 1 iced tea, 1 water, the southwest burger and an appetizer of fried pickles and without tip it was $37. It was worth it for the experience and to say that we’ve been there but are we gonna be running back? No, not running back to this particular establishment. Thank you for...
Read more.As a retired resident of the area, I like to take my out-of-town guests to 'Bathhouse Row'. I was particularly excited this time, as my daughter-in-law was in town visiting from Ohio, so I thought the Ohio Club would be a perfect choice for a cold beverage and a snack on a hot afternoon. Should have picked a different place! The bartender, Lauren, was the biggest issue!! She attended to our drink order immediately when we walked in, but things went quickly south after that. The bar was relatively empty, save a few other people and Lauren soon forgot about us and a another couple sitting a few bar stools down. They had to yell to her in order to get her attention. They had been waiting for their check for quite some time. My guest and I had been waiting to get her attention as well. She was abrupt and quickly made her way back to the opposite end of the bar to entertain the only other 4 patrons at the bar, where she also found the time to take a call on her cell phone. Her service was non-existent during the rest of our time there, including when my guest's beer was empty for the second time and it came time to pay and we had to ask Clint for assistance. My tip (and yes, I did still leave her a tip and did not stiff her) reflected that, along with a note I wrote on the receipt. Immediately upon leaving, Lauren ran out the door after us, onto the sidewalk, and started yelling at us in broad daylight and, among other things, told us "never to step foot into The Ohio Club again"!!! Both myself and my guest have been in the restaurant industry for decades so we recognize that her behavior was completely unacceptable.
On a positive note, Clint, who I think is a bar back/bartender/food runner was fabulous! Kudos to you, Clint, and a big...
