We were in Hot Springs for a Marriage Retreat and we decided to tour Bath House Row. While walking down Central Ave we decided to eat at Bubblalu. My husband and I ordered a Doublious Burger, a Chicken Salad Melt, and Chilli Cheese Fries. While placing the order everyone was very nice, colorful, and friendly. The problem came when my husband received his burger. The burger had two patties one was med well & the other was raw. When he notified the waitress and informed her that he wanted a refund she said it would only take a minute to fix the burger & refused to refund the burger. Now this is were the major issue begins. The public can actually see the cook on the grill making our food so we were totally disgusted when we watched the cook take both patties off the bread & place it back on the grill for all of 30-45 seconds then place both patties back on the bread.
Now remember this is the burger that my husband bitten into and was raw. Again he pulls the patty completely open to show the waitress that the meat is still not done. The same raw burger has been serve to us twice and they still refuse to cook a new burger or refund the $8.25 plus tax we've spent on this burger.
The cook again places a now mangled burger on the grill for a third time & tells my husband that's all she could do. She couldn't refund his money. She couldn't cook a new burger. All she could do was tell him he should have told him how he wanted his burger cooked while ordering. I didn't know raw is ever a serving option for a cooked burger. I also assumed when an order is under cooked and actually bitten into that the establishment makes a new order not actually touch your food glove free to place it on the grill twice.
This is definitely the worst experience I've ever had at an restaurant. It completely tainted our experience here in Hot Springs and I would never...
Read moreThe service is OUTSTANDING! With a group of 17, we needed a place downtown to have a bite of lunch on a Sunday. Knowing that this would be a huge ask of any establishment, we headed into Bubbalu’s. They were super busy and packed and it smelled great in there! By the time we had all made it through the ordering at the counter, the incredibly helpful staff had assisted us in gathering enough tables and chairs together so that we were all able to sit together. The food came quickly, considering how busy they were. It was hot, fresh, and delicious! I had the chicken salad melt and it was phenomenal. The wheat berry bread really kicked it up a notch. The cheese fries were every bit as hot and gooey as you’d expect and the onion rings were delicious! We had several small children in our party and the staff brought out a free basket of fries for them to snack on while we waited for our order! This did wonders to appease our hungry littles! I absolutely recommend Bubbalu’s! As some other reviewers have said, the staff doesn’t expect you to tip, but they definitely earn it! There is a tip jar near the...
Read moreWent there for a quick lunch and both pricing and the service were great. We ordered and our food was delivered fairly quickly. Everything was freshly made. I personally did not care for the brand of ketchup they use and it sits out on the table-i'm a Heinz ketchup snob.
The burgers were just average. The prices were great considering it's in a tourist area and my favorite part of my meal was getting some bluebell ice cream for two dollars. It was a very, very generous serving of nice and creamy hand dipped ice cream. Very refreshing and at a great price. Bubbalus had outstanding service and average food in my opinion.
They also charge a dollar just to get a cup of water which I think is too much if you are ordering meals, but they're overall cost model is extremely competitive for a tourist area so perhaps I don't need to complain about my one dollar cup of water.
They also have a lot of fun, baseball pictures and memorabilia hanging up. Nice atmosphere. it was great for a quick and fairly priced lunch, but not a place I'd go if I was looking for...
