Never again My parents booked the accommodation The Happy Hollow in Hot Springs because the reviews were so good. From a distance, the property looked nice and well-maintained. But when they entered the room (room number 2), they were in shock. Somehow, the pictures online looked very different. The front door showed heavy signs of wear, the windowsill and doormat were covered in dog hair, the bed linen was wrinkled (lets hope it was at least fresh), and the kitchenette had only the most basic equipment — a dirty coffee maker, a dirty microwave, and a completely frozen-over refrigerator. The bathroom had mold, old grime everywhere, and rust, as can clearly be seen in the attached photos. They asked twice to change rooms, but were rudely told that nothing else was available. Even a cleaning wouldn't have helped — the room would need a complete renovation. They had no alternative and were forced to stay in the room. Due to the poor hygienic conditions, they checked out a day earlier.

We only stayed one night, on our way from Texas to Tennessee, but I’d definitely stay again. This place is retro, yet modern. It was clean and comfortable. Very convenient location and a great price. The only negative was when we left out our room a couple of times, there was someone sitting on the porch chairs provided, who was smoking. No fault to the hotel. I’m sure smoking isn’t allowed in the rooms so this is the alternative. We also enjoyed sitting out there ourselves for a short period of time. The young lady at the front desk was both friendly and very professional. In loading up the next morning, my daughter thought my mom had put her purse in the van. Not until the hotel called to tell us, we’d forgotten it, did she know it was even left behind. I accidentally left a jacket the next night at a place we were staying, and upon me calling to retrieve it, was saddened that they “couldn’t locate it.” So Happy Hollow deserves an award for their honesty and integrity.

Whaaat a cuuuuute place to stay! 2nd time that we have stayed here about a year apart! We love it! Its our favorite place to stay while here and will be back. Easy access to the walking trails on the mountain. Plus it's in the down town area. When facing the road, hotel to your back. You got the mountain drive entrance to your left. You have down town strip to your right. And the start of the walking trails in front of you. You can walk to the main strip in about 1-2 mins. If you like to hit up the bars at night for a drink and live bands. They are just around the corner from your room. Then you can easily walk back to your room after a night of fun! The windows open in the rooms for that mountain breeze to flow thru! Plus they have these great sitting areas outside. So that you can enjoy a cup of coffee while the sun comes up with great mountain side view. O, and they are pet friendly here! Seen lots of fur babies. (Respectfully be prepared to wear a mask in the office)

We loved the location of this motel. It is tucked back in a quiet corner, right near a usable spring but close enough to town to walk. It is right near an access road to Hot Springs National Park. It is also right near an old brick walkway that leads to Bathhouse row. The motel is older with a retro vibe. The owner is on site, but was not especially friendly or present during our 2 night stay. The room is very basic. It was "clean" but not deep clean. The tile shower was very very tight....if you are a larger person; good luck! It was nice that they left you a plastic bottle to bring home some mineral water. It was pretty quiet overall. We often saw folks sitting out in front of their unit; there is a little table and 2 chair in front of your room. It could have used some tissues. Overall, pretty clean, but in need of a deeper clean and some basic touch ups (all the paint was peeling off the bathroom door) to elevate the place a bit. It felt safe and quiet (although lots of cars go by to access the nearby spring tap) and was comfy overall. The price point was good for the area. As long as you don't want anything too frilly, this place should...

Happy Hollow is a nice, dog friendly establishment. I stayed here as a solo travel with my dog for one night. Yes, the hotel is dated and you can tell it’s older. But they’ve been working on updating it and it shows. I stayed in a king room. It was clean, had a coffee maker, fridge, TV, microwave, water jug to fill up on the nearby spring, and soap, shampoo, lotion, etc in the bathroom. It has a heating unit to warm the room that worked well. Parking was easy. I agree with reviews on the showering being small, so if you are a person who needs/likes bigger showers this is not the place for you. However, if you are a person looking for a reasonably priced, very conveniently located hotel with a comfortable bed I cannot recommend this place more. My dog is not a long distance walker and he could easily make it to the downtown area. There was no pet fee. The staff I interacted with on phone calls and in person were amazing, even when I needed to rearrange my trip dates. Next time I’m in hot springs, I will stay here again! This place is a gem and if you are looking for a straight-forward place to stay this would be the...

We stayed there a couple of years ago. Happy Hollow is very rustic, so if you are spoiled of the nicer chain motels, I don't think this is the place for you. It is however, a step up above camping out in a cabin somewhere. In the evenings you will need to get in early enough to find a parking spot at the hotel. There is limited parking. One night we had to park on the street, fortunately it was past the parking meter hours. Yes, the police will issue parking tickets in a heartbeat. So we had to get up early enough to put money in the meter or move the car. Forget the internet appeal. There was no internet; that is unless you could pick up the WiFi of the next door hotel that was their ideal of WiFi. Having said all of that, what was positive for the motel was the location. It sits right next to the concrete trails that lead to the park and up the mountain to the Tower. It is also nice and quite and away from the Hot Springs traffic. The water for the showers and drinking water are natural spring water and that is a perk also. So our experience was a mixed bag but mostly a...
