The 1st time I went it was really good bc it was different but the 2nd time around I feel I can give a more fair answer accurate review. Service was good. Crab legs were overcooked which means they couldn't be cracked and the meat was not coming out of the legs. But the crawfish was very good. Love the seasonings. But messy. The gloves have got to go they create more of a mess than help. Maybe latex not sure. Tea was yummy. All in All I can tell that this is not a real Cajun ran restraunt. Salute to my Cajun family in Louie Louisuana. I was chatting at the hair salon with ladies and did hear another lady say that she has noticed that the Red Pier is just like the Lighty Crab in Little Rock and that she was very disappointed. She said that looks like all the Chinese buffets are turning into these Cajun places. I don't mind who runs the eating places. All I want is quality food and Crab legs can Crack especially for the price. Oh and my 1st visit there, they did not offer any crackers to crack our crablegs and our eating utensils were all plastic which was not good for getting into those legs. Know what I mean. Al in all, I did enjoy the experience, I do encourage you to try it at least once and decide for yourself. 1st visit cost over $100 & we order the dinner for 2 seafood bag whatever their called. We ordered an appetizer, too. Appetizer was very good. 2nd visit we got out under 100. I ordered a bowl of Crab chowder. 🦀 it was not hearty and lacked Crab. They had plenty of staff to accommodate their diners. Idk if they have liquor license yet. I saw no liquor in the bar. Just alot of employees trying to look like they were staying busy. I enjoyed both visits but now that I have been. I'll just go to Kroger and make my own for the cost. I'll get more...
Read moreIm sad this review isn't rated higher, but I need to be honest. Today me and my family went in for an early mother's day dinner. Now I had no price limit for anyone since I wanted them to enjoy their time. The waitress who served us was really sweet and was great at her job. The problem was the food.....we ordered hot and extra hot.... nothing was hot....ordered Cajun seasoning and nothing tasted like home. Nothing reminded us of New Orleans despite the restaurant being Cajun based seafood. The seasoning was on the shell of our lobster and crab, making it obvious the food isn't boiled in the seasoning. My sauce had a strange taste, I strange hit of lemon. Then I often felt dirt in my mouth which let me know they didn't clean the crawfish. Which is a MUST. The waitress did ask the first time if the food was amazing, none of us answered then she asked if the portions were big, which we then responded with yes. But to sum up the food, overcooked, shell is the only flavorful thing. Now lastly. The bill, I paid $425.54 for this entire meal....I didn't want to pay that but I did since we did eat the food in hopes of enjoying it. However, what was a disappointment was seeing the waitress signal 0 to the other wait staff because I didn't leave a tip. I heard mumbling and laughing and I knew it was about us. I was disappointed because I don't tip off card, but I do tip in cash. Seeing that display disgusted me. All in all the food was not good, I will not be back. If I could refund this I WOULD! I would also like the wait staff to know if you're going to trash the customers for not tipping at least don't do it out...
Read moreGenuinely one of the worst restaurants we've eaten at. The service started out good, we were seated & had our orders taken quickly & the waitress seemed very nice. The appetizer was good, we got fried pickles and liked them.
Another member of the group and I both ordered the seafood boil combos that come in a big bag. The shrimp was good & so was the seasoning, but the boiled eggs were boiled entirely too long. The entire yolk is almost dark green & throws off the whole thing. My potatoes weren't cooked all the way through and were still too tough. The crawfish was definitely the worst thing on the plate and was basically inedible. Corn was mediocre. For how much the seafood boils cost, I expected to get something I enjoyed and I really didn't. We could not even finish them.
My boyfriend ordered the fried soft shell crabs and hated them, as did everyone else at the table. Another member of our group got fried fish, and because it's fried in flour & not cornmeal, it's mushy and really gross. She didn't eat more than a bite. The fries were the only good thing at this restaurant that I would order again, if I was ever so unfortunate to find myself back here.
We never saw our waitress except for maybe twice. At the end, she took forever to bring us our ticket, and when she got to the table & we asked to split it, she took even longer. It was genuinely nearly a fifteen minute wait just for her to split the ticket so we ended up getting up and just paying at the front. I don't recommend this place to anyone ever and if I could give it zero...
