This place was an overall a let down in every way. When we got there, there was a single family of 4 in front of us. I really think it took 15 minutes for two employees to prepare items for only TWO of the family members, as the other two had not ordered yet.
Ok, so it's Covid... I get it... and they have signs saying you can't eat in doors (even though every restaurant lets you in now). But I was waiting for 15 minutes, so I sat down at a table, because I was tired. And the employee immediately yelled at me telling me "we have a no sitting policy".
Well, ok then. At this point I was ready to walk out, but I didn't want to disappoint my children.
This is also when I notice that they do NOT accept cash. That's just weird also.
My children each ordered a single scoop of ice cream in a cone. Wow, I paid as much as we did the night before at a place downtown where we got twice as much for our dollar 🤨
Ok... now for me to order, right? I want a Concrete with Oreo cookie mixed in.
Now maybe I'm totally mistaken, but I think a concrete is mixed ice cream that has been blended with a topping. (I won't even get Into their strange rule that the concrete could only be vanilla or chocolate, I can't choose what I want??) but I wanted a Concrete... vanilla ice cream with blended Oreo cookies, where the cookies are just a bit soggy as you eat them... this is your chance for redemption...
What I got was a cup with a single scoop of vanilla. It looked like they had taken one abs one half Oreo cookies, scrapped the icing off, broken the cookies into 3 pieces, and dropped them on my ice cream... no yummy mixing. Well.., that's ok... I'll just mix it in myself, right?? NO!!! Because they only gave me the cheapest plastic spoon I have ever seen in my life. The spoon was so thin that it did not have enough rigid strength to stir the ice cream. My children laughed and said they gave me a spoon made of noodles to eat my sad ice cream.
Disappointment Central. Would...
Read moreI will never go here again. This place is an absolute joke. If you looked up "inconvenient" in the dictionary, I would imagine seeing a picture of this place. There was only one person working, although the place was crawling with customers. The worker behind the counter was short with the people in front of me and me, although I cannot blame him given that he was left there alone. When It was finally my turn, I was informed that they cannot do "half scoops." What?! This is a request of the majority of people who visit ice cream shops. Inconvenient! Then, after all of that, I was informed that they only accept cash or check. Seriously? Granted, there was a sign posted that said this. But this is the 21st century. Who comes into a retail chain store in Hot Springs and is looking for a sign like that? So even though it was my fault for missing the sign, this does not change the fact that it is incredibly inconvenient to not take debit cards. Joke! I'm told Orange Leaf or Braum's is way better anyway, or Baskin Robbins for that matter. Oh and I was able to ascertain that it is way over priced, although I did not get a chance to pay. I ended up leaving huge scoops of ice cream at the counter because I did not have cash, so it...
Read moreThis visit was the most odd experience. The couple in front of me were checking out the flavors, while the man walked down the hallway to the bathroom. He came back and inquired as to why the door was locked. The worker stated that you had to be a paying customer to use the restroom. The man then stated that their total would be paid together, gesturing to his female partner (who was obviously checking out the ice cream, holding a credit card and wallet). The worker then stated "again, you must be a paying customer in order to use the restroom." The couple gestured for me to go ahead and while I was ordering they left the establishment, justifiably so. It wasn't as if the couple were strolling about just to find a restroom, it was completely dark outside (and cold) and they had driven to the establishment. As if that weren't enough, two scoops of ice cream totaled $17.00... I hate to say it but maybe if the customer service and friendliness was up to par I wouldn't have minded such a hefty price tag on a scoop...
