UR Coffee Co — Restaurant in Houghton

We went through the drive thru. There were only two people in front of us - but we sat there trapped for 10-11 minutes. When we got up to the menu they had large or small and latte or Breve - so I ordered a large hot decaf breve. We had to repeat the order and correct the gal 6 times (not an exaggeration). Drove to the window so we could sit there several more minutes. Eventually the gal opened the window and say “I will be with you guys in a while”. No hello. No sorries. No smile. No greeting. Several minutes went by before she came back. I told my husband to leave - he waited. The gal opened the window and said “okay, that will be $5.76” Again, no apologies or anything. She takes our card and hands it back and disappears in silence. A couple of minutes later she come back and opens the window, handing the coffee to my husband and says “there”. This gal does NOT NEED to be working the window. No way at all. We finally get to drive off after about 15-18 minutes in the drive through and guess what? The espressos was HORRIBLE. I bet it sat there the whole time we were in the drive through. What a waste of time and money! Don’t waste yours. I gave a 4 on atmosphere because the building is pretty cool looking - it’s too bad the coffee AND service are atrocious. Hopefully the owner will make some staff changes and teach the employees that kindness when they are busy...

The service at the window was lovely but the rest of my experience was terrible. Going through the drive through, it was clear the barista over the speaker could not hear anything and didn't understand her own menu. all four of us requested specialty items - the featured items with pictures on the drive through menu - and she had no idea what we were talking about. Two our of the four items we ordered were out of stock - apparently anything with fruit (the mango frappe, the featured hibiscus tea) was out of stock. Spend a long weekend in Houghton, MI and stopped at this place just about every morning.

The place is an easy in and out of the road.

Best part? Coffee/espresso drinks were fantastic!!! The employees were very accommodating to alterations to drink to make the sugar free.

This is the best coffee in the area hands down. Don't waste your time searching. Steep and Brew will not disappoint!!! We will for sure be back next time we are in town.
