Read moreFirst time at this location but I love the BB's in Webster. We dined in at about 10pm on a Saturday night which shouldn't be a problem for a restaurant that advertises itself as being a great late night spot. The best part about the visit was the drinks. I had the El Tejaneaux and I swapped the red beans and rice for the chalmette mac and chose Mexican street corn for my side. The empanadas and flauta were tasty and warm, no problem there. However, the chalmette mac and cheese was room temperature and the Mexican street corn was actually cool, not even remotely warm. Taste was fine but the temperature really threw me off.
What really got me was the service. I am normally not one to complain, I know what a hard job it is to be a server. But I don't think I've had such slow service anywhere. By the time our food came out we didn't see our waitress for another half hour at least. We wanted to order another drink and we did, that was delivered by someone from the bar pretty quickly. But then we were ready to order a final beer and pay our tab and the server just never showed up. I'm not sure where she went but it was so long that we thought maybe her shift had ended or something. We had no idea. It would not be an exaggeration to say that we waited at least another half hour before I finally went to the bar and asked if I could order one beer and pay our tab. When I mentioned that we hadn't seen our server, I guess the bartender passed the message and she showed up a few minutes later.
In all it took us nearly 3 hours to have 3 drinks and dinner. It was well past midnight when we were finally able to pay our tab and head out. Of course we still tipped but the final bill came out to over $100 and I am certain that we could have gone to any number of restaurants in the area and had warm food, better service and an overall better experience for the same price. This isn't an area I frequent so I doubt I'll be back to this location, but it has soured my taste for BB's in general.
I'm not upset at the cost, we knew that we would be paying for a good dinner and drinks. What bothered me was that the service didn't match the cost. I have reviewed a fair number of restaurants and I am not sure I've ever called out bad service but this was such an outlier that there is no way to describe the experience without mentioning it. I love BB's so while I can't say that I'll never be back, it will definitely be a while before I return, even to my...
Read moreJust ate here with my girlfriend and our server DeMarian I believe (sorry for misspelling it if I am the patio was dark at the time) they served us at around 8-9pm today 4/08/24 and they did a SPECTACULAR job making us feel comfortable and welcomed to sit and eat. The patio space was inviting and nice to lounge-in and watch the game while eating crawfish and having a beer.
Food: We ordered the seafood empanadas, Boudin balls , 5 lbs of crawfish ( Louisiana style: 2x potatoes, sausage garlic link, 2 x eggs, 2 x corn ), brownie brooks sundae. The empanadas were to die for and yes the boudin balls look smaller than they used to years ago when I went in the past but you get an extra boudin ball by making them smaller so I don’t mind.. the corn meal crust on it was well seasoned and crispy but I do think the rice could have had more meat inside it. Empanadas were perfect lol Crawfish was spectacular as a Louisiana native can’t complain on the spice level just maybe source the bags so they are more consistent like one or two crawfish be like HUGE then like 60% be medium good size and the rest are tiny (small ones are good for the juice in the heads though)
Drinks: 1 x shiner bock , 1 x Raspberry and 1 x Mango Margaritas. Shiner was poured to the brimmm but could have been colder for a draft beer need to check the fridge temps there maybe wherever the kegs are stored. Margaritas were PERFECT holy hell the frozen margaritas are no joke here some of the best we’ve ever had as a pair.
Either way literally no complaints just my nit pics if I HAD to have any.
Again our server made sure to keep a watchful eye and see whatever we needed. They carefully explained out the charges and love that they are using the Toast system really easy check out process and clear to me as the customer what I’m being charged. The server made me and my partner feel very comfortable and honestly we...
