Good morning,
I was recently in your Westheimer location, I told 10 of my friends to meet me there Friday night for a farewell dinner as I am moving to Dallas this week. I called a day ahead to make a reservation and I was told I couldn't make one during Crawfish season. My friend showed up at 8 and I asked her to put her name on the list for 10, myself and 5 other friends showed up 10 minutes later. We were told it would be about an hour wait, I told my friends don't worry about it they estimate longer times anyway. So we made our way to the bar to order drinks while we waited. We waited for the bartender named Melvin for about 20 minutes to even speak to us, and we took up most part of the bar so it wasn't like he was helping other guests. He then took our drink order and it took him another 15 to serve us. That wasn't the worst part, he basically threw all our drinks at us when they were finally ready. At first I thought he was overwhelmed then later found out he was just racist, a black guy came and he went around the bar and wiped down the chair and corner of the bar and told him "Sit down man, how can I help you?" I was outraged! At this point we're waiting for about 1 hour, so I go up the hostess and ask where I am at on the list and they said they were waiting on tables to clear to put them together but I'm first on the list I then told them scratch the 10 it's only 7 of us, 3 of my friends canceled. So we continued to wait, there was another bartender named Alyssa behind the bar at this point who was also very rude and she was standing behind the bar just staring at my friends and I up and down. I waited another 30 minutes and when I noticed people showing up getting seated as they got there, I questioned how they were ever going to sit us if they weren't letting tables clear. Then I met Debra which was the only person that I felt was concerned in the whole building. Debra said to wait a little while she tried to figure out our seating but in the meantime she wanted to bring us an appetizer and give us a round of drinks on the house since we had been waiting for so long. Again the bartenders were tired of us and Alyssa kept asking who was paying for the drinks very rudely. We demolished the appetizer and waited another 30 minutes. We were considering leaving at this point. I saw a young man in a button up Maroon shirt, and asked are you the General Manager, he mumbled something and shook his head yes, I told he we had been waiting over an hour and his response... his response was I DON'T KNOW. So my friends and I decided to go to Chilli's accross the street. We explained to the Chilli's hostess what we had just went through at BB's and she immediately spoke to her manager and made arrangements to quickly sit us down on a busy Friday night while having a drink sale going on. I wanted to reach out to you because if Chilli's can do it, you can too, you just need...
Read moreI wish I could give zero stars for how this restaurant treated me & my service dog. I'm an amputee & my disability is quite clear, my prosthetic leg is covered in enough rhinestones to stop traffice!. My service dog almost 8 yrs old & highly trained to alerts & help me w/ balance. When we were barred entry, she was calmly sitting at my feet, wearing a bright pink service vest, so there was no confusion as to wether she was a "pet" or a service dog & she was always under control. Yet we were still denied entry. When the host informed me I couldn't come in I asked why and I was told outright that the manager “does not allow service dogs.” I asked if they were absolutely sure, since refusing entry to a trained service dog is illegal under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). They confirmed. The host was nice, but nice doesn’t make up for illegal discrimination. The host even went to ask with the bartender who confirmed that the GM "does not allow SERVICE DOGS". Both of them were nice and seemed sorry, but at this point the other dinners were all staring at me like I had done something wrong. This was humiliating, bewildering, and the first time in my life I’ve ever been turned away from an establishment because of my disability. I even offered to sit outside on their patio, but they still refused. For anyone who relies on a service animal: this restaurant will turn you away. My extremely well-trained, nearly eight-year-old service dog is not a pet, she’s my medical equipment. And she helps me live independently. We're a team, and the law protects teams like ours for a reason. I’ll be filing the proper ADA complaints because this isn’t just “bad service”, it’s discrimination, plain and simple. Disabled people deserve better, and businesses that break the law should be held accountable. While the business didn't make the rule to bar service animals, they chose to hire the manager that broke the law. At the end of the day, that manager is the representative for...
Read moreFirst off, when we arrived, the host seated us and asked for our drink orders. We gave him a few drink choices, and then told him we wanted a seafood boil that wasn’t spicy. He recommended the “Texas Heat” flavor, saying it was one of their most popular options. Since we were there with my 12-year-old stepdaughter, my almost 1-year-old son, and my almost 1-year-old daughter, we trusted his suggestion.
When our food came out, we still hadn’t received our drinks — and the seafood boil was extremely spicy. None of us could eat it, so we let them know. They took it back, and when it was returned, it still tasted spicy. It honestly seemed like they just rinsed it off and added garlic butter instead of remaking it.
To make it worse, the portion looked smaller — only one egg, one corn, and a few potatoes. When we asked about it, the staff didn’t seem to know why, but said they’d bring more out. Five minutes later, the server came back with just one egg. At that point, it almost felt like a joke.
We spoke with the manager, who apologized and admitted they don’t remake the platter — they just “re-dip” it in a different sauce, which explained why it was still spicy. She offered 25% off and removed a kids’ meal, but that didn’t make up for the poor service and bad experience.
Our bill was around $140, which we don’t mind paying when the food and service are worth it — but this was not. It took 30 minutes to get our alcoholic drinks, which arrived when we were nearly done eating. The server’s attitude was dismissive, and the whole experience felt careless.
Overall, very disappointing. For a family-friendly seafood place, you’d think they’d be more attentive and considerate when recommending menu items and serving...
