So we went on the weekend, so the price per person was automatically 23.99. I think it's cheaper during the week during lunch? Basically you serve yourself, and pay when you leave. You pick up your own drink and get a new plate every time you want to get something new. The first thing you see when you go in is a vast array of salads, vegan options, pickled items, leafy greeny goodness, hummus of different varieties and flavors; spicy avocado etc. then tahini and other sauces at the end. There is a folded basket covered with napkins 🧺 that houses the pita bread. Almost missed it, next to that are 2 trays of small pizzas cheese and olives? Next down the line is various meats and and baked fish. The lamb was well cooked (kinda like brisket). Gyro meat with onions. I was able to assemble 2 mini gyro 🥙 tacos with the meat the fluffy pita 🫓 and a salad plate. The dessert section has baklava with honey syrup on the side but was plenty sweet without it. Vanilla ice 🍦 cream machine. The drink section has an odd selection lineup like Mr pibb Xtra (rare) and other uncommon beverages that were great. Like rose water and watermelon juice with another flavor I didn't get to try; I had tea. The only condiments at the table were salt and pepper, you had to fix your unsweeted tea there next to the dessert aisle as that's where all the sugar packets were placed. The bathrooms were very nice and clean. The cleaner would occasionally take away plates throughout your buffet adventure. All in all it was a good experience and they do offer senior discounts to those that qualify for them. Oh, and I loved the baba gounoush, it was tangy, but the eggplant was prevalent in it. The falafel was super crispy. I know I'm forgetting a ton of dishes, but it's impossible to taste everything on your first visit. They only had 2 soup options, vermicelli noodles with chicken broth and carrots and lentil and some type of shredded leaf soup; I preferred the lentil soup as it reminded me of starchy potato base. Will return...
Read moreThis was my second time visiting this location. A coworker and I frequent Dimassi's for lunch in different locations depending on what side of town we are at for the job.
My first experience was pleasant, 4 star experience, all the food tasted good, atmosphere was nice, the only downside was that the cashier never greeted us when we entered, she was on her phone the entire time. The young Hispanic cashier was once again on her phone, speaking loudly when we entered, never said "hello," or even looked up from her phone at all. She was still on the phone when we were checking out, still talking to the person on the phone while tending to our check. First impressions are long lasting, and I wasn't impressed at all. You go to work to perform a duty, not to socialize on the phone and treat your job as a secondary priority.
I also noticed many tables with dirty dishes still on the tables. We had to search for a clean table. When we found one, we noticed that there were dirty plates at the tables attached to ours. Nobody came by to clean the table attached to ours the entire time we were dining. Nobody came by to take away our own dirty plates either.
Last but not least, the white garlic sauce was off and had a spoiled taste to it. I had to spit it out the first time and went back for a second time to see if I was mistaken, but I had to spit out the sauce once again. There was definitely something rotten about the taste.
My 4 star rating just dropped 3 stars because of this experience and the continued lack of effort on the part of the employees, and we won't be returning. We'll just have to drive a little further to a different location if we're in the mood for...
Read moreI have eaten at approximately five locations and prefer the location in the Woodlands to any. I was very excited when I location opened in Willowbrook as it is closest to my home. Although this location has never met my expectations today the buffet was considerably worse. We ate there at approximately 5:15 and you could tell that every dish had been sitting a while. The hummus was not up to the normal standard and was a bit grainy. The grape leaves rice wraps were very very dark and hard. The lintel soup was extremely thick, covered by a film and not edible. Needless to say it was a poor experience, but what made it worse was what took place after the cashier asked us how the meal was. When I told her the quality was very poor and everything seemed to have been out too long, she began to argue with me "the customer" telling me it was all fresh. When I told her if it was fresh then the quality was just very poor, she simply told us our total was $41.xx. She made no apology and had no interest in what exactly was wrong on the buffet. Amazing that any company can honestly expect to remain in business like this. Why would you ask your customer how was the meal if you are going to disagree with what they say and give it no recognition? I've had a hard time visiting this establishment since they opened because the bathroom doors which are located right at the entrance always give off a bathroom smell. Not the first thing you want customers to smell walking into...
