I am going to give this place 5 stars but only because I am hopeless romantic dummy and I want to see this place succeed. Otherwise my first visit was a 3 star experience, but I know they just opened two weeks ago so they're working out the kinks so I will give them the benefit that things will turn around. The good: the pizza is pretty great. The sauce might be the best pizza sauce I have had in a while. The bad: $13 wings, and only got like 5 wings, and they do not have blue cheese dressing. Also, the ALCS game 7 was on, and we had to remind them to turn the game on. There was no sound in the place either. By sound I mean, the game sound/commentary, or even music. Then, the Texans game came on, and they had to be reminded of that too. Maybe its not meant to be thought of as a sports bar, but there is always sports on the dozens of TVs so I just assumed part of the draw to this place was the food and sports. I think this place has a lot potential. I live in this neighborhood so I am really hoping it turns into my little neighborhood spot. Location is great, pizza is really good too. I will be going back since its a few steps from my house, and I hope to see it do better. I believe...
Read moreWent to lunch here with some friends. The venue looks so cute and I feel at night time it could be the perfect vibe for pizza and drinks. However, be aware this site is a bit small and the tables are small, so you'll feel a bit crammed if that is a concern for dine-in.
The food was mediocre for the price. The pizza crust felt a bit overcooked and the sauce is lacking a bit of salt. It does taste good when you eat right away, but I worry when doing carryout it'll not be as satisfying. Especially if you like eating the crusts on your pizza, they get too hard quickly and is unfortunate.
Be mindful this restaurant has no vegan options for pizza other than ordering a cheese-less veggie pizza or a salad. Fries are fried in duck fat, so FYI if you are a vegetarian.
Additionally, this restaurant has no free refills on sodas - this is due to the soda being from cans. I am neutral to this, just keep this in mind when going there.
It is not bad by any means, and is cool to see more local joints pop up.
Sadly I feel the kind staff and casual vibes do not match the gentrified pricing and lackluster items this...
Read moreI thought the food here was excellent and top tier. I would put the pizza, wings, and meatballs we had up against Nonno’s and other excellent pizza establishments in Montrose. Vibe was great too.
The wait staff had a hard time figuring out the TVs and how to change channels which I chalk up to newness
My one critique is the bar menu. The draft beer list is basically just St Arnold’s. The cocktails did not look great - I had the clover club and it was mediocre. The cocktail list was very gin and vodka heavy. They whiskey drinks they had read as extremely sweet, they are missing drinks that are more spirit forward and have nothing in the more smoky vibe (rye, mezcal, etc). I would recommend they rethink their beer and cocktail program to pair better with their awesome food. (Right now nearly every Montrose hot spot will have a better beverage program)
If you’re not looking for drinks I would definitely recommend this place.
Side note - there were tons of kids there. I brought my two year old. They handled it well but only have two high chairs available. Given the neighborhood I’d recommend...
