General Joe's Chopstix — Restaurant in Houston

Haven't been here in a few years since moving to thr other side of town but we thought. We would give it a try again. We order 2 kids plates( they both came with alot of food!)

An order of pan fried dumplings, which took about 15 min to cook, but they were fresh and pretty good. Genreal Tso chicken special.. Had about 5 big chunks of dark meat and a big helping or rice. The sauce wasn't spicy as specified and the chicken wasnt cooked throughly . Would not order again.

Orange chicken- tasted pretty good. Dry small pieced of chicken cooked throughly and we asked for spicy as well but didnt get a lick of heat.

Chicken w/ stir fry and brown sauce was ok... I didnt personally like the sauce and veggies tasted ok. The man at the front( I think the owner) was very specific about pricing, Food, and drinks. ) for ex. We asked to get lo mien. Instead of rice and he said No. It would take 30 min to make the noodles and they do don't substitutions. Then we asked for water cups and the cashier who i think was new gave us 1 plastic cup and 2 Styrofoam cups. We assumed the smaller Styrofoam cups were food the kids plates and asked if they came with drinks. .. The man practically screamed " NO THEY DONT COME WITH DRINKS!" .. OK no need for screaming. We simply asked and enjoyed our water. Until we got a nice surprise of a insect of some sort from the water container... Smh a place we will never ever revisit. Unprefessional service and nastier food. Im pretty sure they use MSG ..they didnt have it specified anywhere that they didn't.. And most chinese food placed...

I'm going to get to the point I ordered food off of Uber Eats, House fried rice and sweet and sour chicken my order was about an hour late getting to me The Uber delivery person showed that they were on a bicycle come to find out they were not in any vehicle at all Not even a bicycle as described The delivery person walked from the restaurant to me to deliver my food (40 minutes) from the restaurant when I called to speak to the manager he knew exactly what I was talking about he thought it was very odd and noticed as well that the delivery guy delivering for Uber Eats was not in a vehicle he appeared to be walking. Do you know how unsanitary and unsafe that is? So if you all order from Uber Eats and are in the area and choose this restaurant make sure that the delivery person is not walking the delivery guy's name is Shane and I think it's very genius of shane to have done this but not with my food he seemed to be unclean and if you know anything about Westheimer there are a lots of individuals walking around like that, I did not get a refund from Uber Eats and I did not get any resolution with the restaurant because they knew exactly what I was talking about and felt that it was odd as well, but they didn't want to mess up their dollar so they...

This was my second visit to this location. First visit I went in 5 minutes before closing and order beef and broccoli and egg rolls. Surprisingly it was good, not spicy enough for my personal taste but still good. So I decided to try again, big mistake! I wanted to try something spicy so I ordered the mandarin chicken and mini chicken egg rolls. Everything was horrible except the Fanta orange soda. I am still looking for the chicken in the egg rolls and they were soft (not crisp) at all. The mandarin chicken looked as if it had been fried but is was very mushy. There was absolutely not spice non. I thought that I had found my Chinese restaurant but I will have to keep looking. The second time it was 3 hours before closing so I was sure it would be better than the first visit. Needless to say I am very disappointed. Regardless of the fact that the prices are good, this visit did not warrant my hard earned dollars.oh yeah the rice was over cooked and looked and tasted as if I had cooked it. Guess what, I can’t cook rice. It was a big gummy mess. I only gave two stars because of the first meal. I need consistency in my life and this wasn’t it. I am ending this relationship before any other abuse can occur....
