FOOD: A good plate of food, but not an authentic Mediterranean flavors I'm used to. I had a plate that was supposed to be a gyro and a greek salad. Instead I got a bowl of gyro meat with onions and mushrooms that had a really strong cinnamon or clove taste, a pretty small Greek salad which was good but too small, and one pita cut in 4 pieces. So technically it wasnt really a gyro. My meal was $20 plus $4 plus tax for a cup of tea. They didn't have Greek dressing, just oil and vinegar which was OK for me, just not expected. Severely overpriced for the portions. $25 for what I felt could have been on a lunch special menu for no more than $12. SERVICE: Customer service was pretty good coming in and leaving. ATMOSPHERE: Is parking prices part of the atmosphere?? Lol!! Yes, right?! Ok so $10 to park and eat so add that to your tab. Lol!! I ended up spending $35 for this meal. (As you can see I'm bothered about spending that here lol) They are doing construction right now so It's pretty hard to find. Inside of another office building.

Nice clean spot with ample seating and fairly fast service. Pricing is a bit high with chicken pita, fries and drink combo for $16. Lots of salad on it but not a ton of chicken and definitely need to ask for more taziki sauce as it was very dry.

Excellent option for lunch if you work downtown Houston. I love the Mediterranean plate with a side of hummus and pita bread! Great portion sizes but the prices are on the higher side.

👍 This place is located in the heart of Downtown, and is a convenient stop for breakfast before walking into the office. 👍 They have a good breakfast menu here. Actually, the breakfast tacos are probably the second-best in Downtown. 🤜 However, the salsa is pitifully weak. It's like the restaurant caters to stereotypical office workers. 🤜 Everything is to-go here, but there is communal seating on the same floor (east of the restaurant). I do not recommend sitting in the tunnels because the Subway down there stinks up the area, and that stinch will cling to your clothes. 👍 You can order online and pick up your food, which is convenient if you're in a hurry. 👎 However, a couple times the guy didn't call out a name when placing a bag of food on the counter. After seeing a lady come in, order, and get her food, I asked if my order was on its way. Turns out that was my bag of food, and what should have been a 5 minute trip was multiplied by 3. I wish it was standard to tip AFTER picking up an...

I have to give a huge shoutout to Ray at the downtown Houston Island Grill! From the moment I walked in, he made the experience nothing short of amazing. Ray greets everyone with such genuine warmth that you instantly feel welcomed. He’s not just friendly—he goes above and beyond to make sure every order is perfect and every customer leaves with a smile.

His attention to detail, quick service, and upbeat energy really set the tone for the whole restaurant. You can tell he truly cares about people, and that kind of service is rare these days. Ray doesn’t just do his job—he elevates the entire dining experience.

If you’re ever at the downtown Island Grill, look for Ray. He’s the reason I’ll keep coming back. He’s a true gem and absolutely deserves recognition for the incredible way he represents...
