Terrible place, terrible parking, terrible space inside, so cramped inside and outside. Service is awful, they're only in it to make money and forgot about customer service and food quality. I don't live anywhere near the Heights and have to drive to and from 1hour and 20 minutes, so my kids wanted to try this place and I placed order online because they dont take orders by phone, I ordered the chicken and waffles and the kids the All American each, and we order the large servings for each, when we got home my Honey/syrup for the waffles is MISSING, can't have waffles without honey/syrup cause that messes up the entire flavor. So I called them and the girl said that their manager said they can't give me a refund for my plate, then I said a discount at least and she said NO because they were busy and someone forgot to put in in my bag, and I said that's wrong of her to say that because their online menu didn't say that "Maybe You Get Honey if We're Not Busy", then I said can you at least refund my 20% tip because of your lousy service that I didn't anticipate and she said NO. Wow! This proves their is no customer respect at that restaurant. They're food was awful by the way, the kids didn't even eat their plates because they said that Wasn't real cheese in there and it had no flavor, so bland and they said it tasted old. Kids know real cheese when they taste it! My chicken was frozen then fried and chewy and only three little pieces like nuggets, I had to spit it out. The waffle was soooo dry and I think it was wheat too, so it definitely needed the syrup to moisten it up, I threw it out, it was only a little triangle too. And the macaroni was tasteless and bland, the kids weren't kidding! We are all foodies and love great, delicious food and will drive anywhere and any miles to get to where the great food is especially on diet cheat days like today which wasn't worth it to go to Jus Mac in the Heights, not just because of the food but the customer service...Terrible terrible terrible and...
Read moreI ordered the chicken parmesan mac (added jalapeno) and was severely disappointed by basically everything. First lets start with the chicken... I was expecting a fried chicken breast but what I received was 3 chunks of "fried" chicken. You know how you would cut a chicken breast into chunks/pieces, well a normal breast can give you 6-8 pieces so this was barely half a chicken breast. Fried was in quotations because it looked like boneless lemon pepper wings. Originally I was at 2 stars but thinking about the fact that it's called chicken parmesan and there was barely any chicken in it knocked it down to one. Now getting to the actual mac ... It was not creamy as other reviews have described. It was cheesy but melted cheese is melted cheese, it was stiff and cheesy so you could pull it up and have long cheese strings but I'm not a child so I could've used some creamy (and seasoning). There's supposed to be onion and garlic but I'm assuming it was in the marinara... oh just remembered there's supposed to be basil in it too but I guess it was in the marinara. This place had been hyped up and I expected it to be the best I ever had or at least be properly seasoned. I ordered the personal size and the good thing is that it was filling (because of the excessive cheese and noodles). It was delivered so that may have taken away some of the creaminess but it doesn't account for not being seasoned. The jalapenos saved it from being completely bland but I added some mrs dash, a little heavy cream, some grilled chicken (leftovers) and put it in the oven with some bread crumbs (that they neglected to add by the way) and it was good enough to finish. The pictures are before I actually tasted it fresh from being delivered. Hopefully whoever reads this has a...
Read moreFood: Not enough food for vegetarians. Ours was good, with artichoke hearts, my daughters Rustic tasted like paper towels. I can't think how they were so different. Even though we were still hungry after eating ours, we could not finish hers for her. Weirdly, there were no sides. Brussel sprouts, corn, some greenery most people like to eat on the side of heavy dishes. Didn't offer any. There might have been more vegy dishes than the three we spotted, but the woman at the counter didn't know what they were and didn't care to help us find one.
Atmosphere: Cute enough, almost cozy, but smelled bad.
Service: My kids wanted water, and we make a point not to drink out of disposable cups. My husband asked for one of the plastic drink cups by the register and she told him no, he had to have a dinky water cup. He said he'd show her it was only water inside, and she said, "You heard what I said, No!" He took two cups anyway, which he shouldn't have, and the manager came and didn't ask why. He just kicked us out! For filling plastic water cups with water. I can't even see the cost-benefit of making people drink out of disposables. Every other restaurant we go to we ask the same thing and explain why, but this woman was so hostile at the suggestion that we could drink out of cheap plastic glasses instead of disposable cups -- that , what? show we won't buy soda? If it was a busy resataurant maybe I could see them worrying we would drink soda instead of water, but the water station is two feet from teh cash register, and all the glasses are see through. In the one gulp of water I took from my daugher'rs water, it turned out their water is half carbonated,...
