This was the first time that I visited this location. I usually go to the Westheimer location but this was closer to me and I’ve been looking forward to trying the Keith Lee matcha.
We arrived and the parking situation is a little nightmare-ish (3-spots and a lot of illegal double parking, so 4 stars). I arrive to pick-up my online order and the location is much cozier than Westheimer. My order is not ready (completely fine, I see they’re busy with morning rush and it’s only been 10 mins since my online order). I wait…and wait…and I see that they’ve made an order that came in after mine with a 13 minute difference.
I ask the staff about my order and it looked like they’re scrambling…and they say it’ll be ready in a bit. I see another drink come in and now it has been almost 30 minutes since I placed my order. I understand that these things happen and I can get (should get) a refund but no one can give me back the 35 minutes of my life…and I didn’t even get my drinks.. .
To top it off, someone was blocking us in so I had to honk/ go into the store and ask whoever was blocking me to move their car. Again, never going back to...
Read moreI usually love coming to La La Land Café for coffee—the coffee is always great. However, today’s experience with food service was extremely disappointing. I ordered an avocado toast and waited patiently, understanding they were busy. After 30 minutes, I asked an employee to check on my order, and she told me it would take 8–10 minutes after ordering (which had already long passed). When I followed up again after 45 minutes, she completely ignored me.
Finally, after waiting a full hour, I went to the manager, who discovered my toast had been made but likely taken by someone else. That’s exactly why I asked for my order to be checked earlier. Mistakes happen, especially when it’s busy, but what really ruined the experience was the rude and dismissive service from the staff member I spoke to. Instead of helping, she was unprofessional and even tried to play the victim.
I truly enjoy the coffee here, but this experience left a bad taste. If food service can’t keep up, at the very least, better communication and respectful customer service should...
Read moreThey deserve 1 star for every parking spot they have. 2. They have 2 parking spots. Technically they have 4, but half of them are not accessible if 1 car is parked there. It’s crazy that the city gave them a permit. What that means is you are forced to park on a tiny, neighborhood street in front of their houses. I would be FURIOUS if I lived there.
It’s so thoughtless of LaLa Land. At one point, a neighbor came into the shop yelling (I mean, yelling) about a customer parked in front of his driveway. I will never return. The music is bonkers loud inside and outside (which the nearby houses can most likely hear), combined with the existential, carelessness of the neighborhood they planted themselves in, I can’t recommend enough that you stay away from this chain of Dallas coffee shops.
I’ve been to over 30 coffee shops in Houston - try Ten Fold, Slowpokes, Paper Co, Blacksmith, BlendIn, Pavon, Catalina….or anything else. A funny anecdote - when I ordered a “black drip coffee for here,” she said, “you don’t want syrup or milk or...
