La telera has been in Houston Texas for years. Probably about 10 to 15 years probably even 20. Every time I go I get tortas. Which are the best they have Cuban they have Mexican they have all kind of torta selections this time I went and got enchiladas suices, taco de suadero, and their recommended item. I got a juice which I can tell and I was told that all the juices are fresh. No concentrate and water here. I always recommend the juices now. The atmosphere was great they had a bunch of cool art on the wall and the service was nice. As far as the food I did get the meat kind of cold. But they were kind enough to reheat it for me. Which I did not mind the reheat part. All it is is just put it the meat back on the stove and let the heat hit it. When I did get my enchiladas though the black beans were cold and that's when I wanted to be nice but I had to leave it on this review. Don't let this discourage you though. Please come to this restaurant and establishment and support. Like I said they have been around for years and their tortas is what I highly recommend. This time I wanted to try the food and it was well worth it. Thank you very much for the hospitality and we will be coming...

These are probably one of the best tortas in town. I have tried them all and they are all exeptional. Most of the bad reviews are about the service, and how long it takes for them to attend you. But this never seemed to me like the waiter kind of restaurant where you sit and wait. It is more fast food style to me. I always go up and order myself and have never had an issue. I always make sure to review my order with them because the amount of orders they have can be frantic at times. Especially when I go. I can say I am a regular, and have hardly ever waitied for more than 15 minutes... the price is fair for the amount of food you get and the quality of it. Hence, I do not come here when I am on a budget because I know I will end up ordering a lot. Don't come here thinking this is Denny's or Olive Garden and you will be satisfied. Just like you dont expect someone to come and take your order at Chick-fil-A and you never complain. This is the same mentality when I come here, except my torta is not in a bag ready for me to...

The food was very bland and scarce. My co-worker and I both ordered a steak torta from here, and neither of us liked it. First, it was over a 25 minute wait for 2 tortas, but it was lunch time about 1:45 pm so much it was the lunch rush, but that time is still a bit long. Secondly, it is just a thin strip of meat and the meat did not even cover the entire piece of bread so there was a lot of bites with no meat. The meat needs to be chopped. Thirdly, the meat has absolutely no flavor at all. I mean none, no salt, no pepper, nothing. I have never had bland Mexican food. Also, the toppings were scarce. Fourthly, I asked for sour cream on mine and not only was there no sour cream, but there was only lettuce, tomatoes, and meat. It was really dry and flavorless. A huge disappointment because my expectations were high. Both my co-worker and I agreed we would never...

I drove by this restaurant for months before discovering La Telera didn't just sell tortas, but also satisfying gorditas, taquitos (lengua! chorizo & nopales! barbacoa! chicharron! and more) by the basketful, flautas rolled so tight and fried crispy they actually did resemble flutes, and menudo full of the good bits. The restaurant itself is cozy, and the decor makes me smile. I'm so glad La Telera is close by, because it's only a couple more hours until lunch . . .

Walking in to LA Telera, you are struck by the bright and colorful atmosphere. It was a strange experience to be looked directly in the face by the people at the front and not be acknowledged or greeted. The bread on the torta is so huge it takes over. The real disappointment for me was the flan... it was DRY and pre sealed . Sadly looks good but the taste could be greatly upgraded.
