MOCA — Restaurant in Houston

I visited on my birthday in February and have not returned. Food took a long time to come out. The 20% gratuity is hidden at the bottom of the menu online, my server nor the QR code to scan the menu made that aware to me. It’s more prevalent now to have automatic gratuity, which I understand, however this business goes about it in an undermining manner. I asked for my bill before paying and was told it couldn’t be printed, only emailed after I paid. The handheld was brought for me to pay and listed tip as 15,18 & 20%. Even then my server made no mention of the tip already in the bill, the handheld showing the 15-20% did not alert me to tip already being included. I worked in the industry for 10+ years and frequent many lounges/bars in Houston: if gratuity is already included, the tip shows as and additional $1-3 more if you’d like to tip 22-25%. I noticed the discrepancy that night and emailed this business explaining everything and my concerns with their lack of transparency. The response I received was along the lines of ‘oh well, menu states it and you signed”. They never returned another email or called me back after leaving several voicemails. Mocha would have gotten A LOT MORE of my money AND repeat business had my server been more attentive. The staff overall, especially the host, were VERY professional, friendly and accommodating. They held my table although I was very late arriving and even texted me to see if I would still make it, which I VERY MUCH appreciated; hence the reason I didn't rate the experience lower. The server, although friendly just didn't seem all that concerned with serving my table; perhaps because there was only 1 in my party? IDK. After placing my order around an hour prior, I finally had to find HER to ask about the status of my order. (A simple update of the status of my order, without me needing to find the server to ask, would have assured me that I hadn't been forgotten). The drink came out shortly after; then about another 10+ minutes for the food- which was not even hot; all this for cold wings? I took a risk and ordered an additional drink, but the vibe was kind of killed just trying to figure out when I'd get my order(s), so I asked for the check; this was the fastest thing presented my entire visit. I made reservations for a party of 5, but when we arrived, we were seated at a booth/table with only 4 seats. I had to squeeze into the booth with 2 other people, and it was very uncomfortable. The server was nice, but the service was slow. I ordered the lamb meatballs and 24k rice. The rice was terrible, as it tasted like it had been washed with water right before serving. The meatballs were cold, and all the plates came out at different times. I wish I had researched the menu more thoroughly because I was unaware that the restaurant didn't have a full dinner menu. Unfortunately, the menu was not available online for me to review. I discovered this place on TikTok and it seemed like a great spot.
