decided to come back and try to give ramen moto another chance tonight. my friends were in town and i thought it’d be a nice spot to take everyone before we go do some spooky things for the evening, but sadly i was extremely let down (again). service is mid. nobody asks if it’s your first time or really offers any greeting. the staff are visibly distressed constantly and we could hear the hostess getting mad at servers a couple of times throughout our time. our server barely even smiled and it was just even more awkward because the person who took our order (not our server) didn’t write anything down and got most of it wrong. edamame comes out about 20-25 minutes into just sitting there, then another 10 goes by one appetizer at a time finally coming out. at around an hour of waiting they finally tell us one of the appetizers we ordered (Squashed Q) is no long available, but they kindly brought a small portion of what they could make of it and said it’d be on the house (we still got charged for it lol we were rushing so didn’t have time to check that closely). our ramen finally comes out but unfortunately our spooky plans had a scheduled time so we had to ask for our ramens to go because of time crunch (total sitting time already pushing an hour and a half). but even though we asked it still came to the table and they just brought us to go bowls to pour it ourselves. food is pretty decent. it’s just the waiting and lack of communication from staff to customer that really makes it’s weird. it’s almost like they don’t even want to talk to you 💀 still tipped our waitress 20% as a fellow industry worker i understand how hard it can be gotta have each others backs but 💯💯 get it...
Read moreA friend and I went there for a late dinner. it wasn't too busy but there was a 10 min wait. The hostess was super nice and seemed really apologetic about us waiting and gave us menus to look over while we waited. When we got seated I was surprised to see there were no free standing tables. As a bigger person it was kind of awkward to get in and out of the booth. The server came over almost as soon as we sat down which was great and took our drink order. I'm not sure if this is very Texas of me, but when I order iced tea I assume it will be sweet. It was not lol. We got the garlic edamame and the ribeye skewers, both were super delicious. The ribeye was tender and had some pieces of fat that got crispy when they grilled it. I got the spicy black with added fish cake. The broth was so rich and creamy almost, really delicious. The pork was so soft and tender, it was amazing. It was served with a heap of super thin green onions, thin noodles, wood ear mushrooms, bamboo shoots, and a soft boiled egg. The wood ear mushrooms were not my favorite texture, but overall the ramen was amazing. I didn't care for the seating so maybe next time I'll sit at a bar table but I for sure will be back to...
Read moreI have a severe peanut allergy and I ordered a miso ramen after looking on the online websites menu on 08/25/24. When I got home after eating it I realized it had peanuts and had a allergic reaction. This information was not on the website. When I called the restaurant the server was very blase and stated that it shows it on the in-person menu. Still, this was a take out order and I wasn't made aware of it when I called and ordered it.
Thankfully i have a epipen. So I called the restaurant again today and spoke to a manager who said that he was going to send a refund. I asked when he was going to update the site since not everyone has a epi pen and this could happen again and all he said was soon which simply is not good enough. This was also not followed by explanation on how to prevent this in the future.
The entire situation was irresponsible and reckless. I'm very disappointed in the lack of accountability and slow pace action when it comes to making sure this doesn't...
