Love this place. I saw it when leaving Bellagreen across the street one night, thinking I could use a glass of black tea for a little caffeine bump before the ride home. I thought that certainly this place would have quality tea. I am a tea drinker and take my tea seriously, as many coffee drinkers are about their coffee. What a wonderful surprise when I went in to find out a wide variety of ORGANIC teas, around 140. There are a variety of many many black teas, as well as green teas, white teas, herbal, pu erh, oolong, and even healing. There is a sample display of every tea they carry in small canisters with clear lids, allowing customers to be able to view the tea, as well as open the small display canisters and smell the teas. I selected the Monk's Sacred Blend, which is a blend of grenadine and caramel vanilla flavors. Customers can purchase 2 ozs loose, a pot, or hot or iced tea to go of any flavor. The music is relaxing and serene; it's like being in a spa setting. People are sitting at tables reading or looking at computers, much like you see at a Starbucks. I took my Monk's Sacred Blend black tea to go. I enjoyed it so much that I went back the next week when I was in the area and...
Read moreFIVE REASONS YOU MUST VISIT THE PATH OF TEA
I love exploring this city and discovering new food-related things to talk about. Why, oh why then hadn't I been back to The Path of Tea, this treasure of a place, in recent years? I can only blame the fact that these days I do more coffee roasting and brewing here in my home. But after a recent visit, I guarantee that I and friends will be going to Path of Tea on a regular basis in 2016. What a wonderful venue for socializing over great beverages. I'm going to dispense with the usual verbage and just list a few of the reasons why you should run, not walk, to check this place out.
Soothing music and a great ambience.
The best chocolate chip pistachio cranberry cookie in Houston.
Chocolate chai, lemon curd and pumpkin cupcakes. And they have delicious truffle-like cakeballs that you need to try.
When you order your tea, you get to choose your mug from their collection of distinct mugs.
A big (humongous!) selection of teas from which to choose: caffeinated and non-caffeinated, herbal, and rooibos. I enjoyed an Assam coconut tea and bought a bag of organic ginger/citrus green roiboos to go. Small pot and...
Read moreI came across The Path of Tea by accident, and what a surprise it was. The first thing I must say is this place is NOT a place I would suggest you go with friends when you want to talk, laugh, joke, and catch up! This is a place where you can sit in peace and quiet throughout your busy working day. (Yes, of course, you can go with people I did, BUT it's just so quiet people were not talking very much, and when they did, it was a whisper.) The setting is so calm you could meditate for a few minutes with a yummy cup of tea and then carry on your day. I had no idea it would be as quiet as it was, so when I walked in, I was a little embarrassed because I opened the door laughing loudly at my friend and realized no one was talking! (Opps) The setting is beautiful, with great staff and a kind owner, and I will be back again to enjoy another flavorful cup of tea next time I am in town....
