Special places come up when you want to celebrate special occasions. Today Sept 13th, 2025 we went to celebrate Jackie’s hole in one. If you play golf you know this is a really big deal. Well off to one of our favorite places, Trulucks, on Westheimer. When you want a great meal, great service and attention to detail you go here for any celebration. No disappointment. Smiling faces and congratulatory greetings from the moment we got there. Manager who greeted us was fantastic and went on about how great a hole in one is. Now in comes Rogelio, our waiter and he is just all smiles and goes on about Jackie and her hole in one. Now we start asking about the menu and items off the menu and this is where Rogelio really shone, he made the recommendations and suggested sides. Jackie had the trout and I had the filet flight. We didn’t go wrong and Rogelio had the right recommendations. For any celebration or just a great place to go eat a nice supper do yourself a favor and stop by Trulucks. You will have a great time. Don’t forget ask for Rogelio.
Fast Forward, April 2, 2022 Went on Saturday Evening, for my lovely brides birthday. Again from our arrival at the valet station to the hostess stand to be sitting everyone was just fantastic. Our waitress came over and greeted us and introduced herself, Serena. Last visit we had Raul and he was fantastic. Well Serena is just as fantastic and attentive and really went above and beyond, very attentive humorous and gracious. The food from the beginning to the end the baked Alaska, and all in between, Wedge Salad and Prime Rib-Eye, just fantastic and off the charts again. We were delayed in getting back here due to the pandemic but I can guarantee we will not be delayed again. Everything about Truluck's is just memorable and great. We will not wait for a special occasion to come back. We have lots of quality restaurants to choose from but I can guarantee you that we will choose Trulucks. Can't beat the staff, Serena and Raul and you cannot beat the food. You have to eat here.
Went on Saturday night March 30th for my Wife's Birthday. She wanted stone crab. The experience from the time we arrived till the time we left was fantastic and very very enjoyable. From the time we were seated by the hostess it was memorable. The hostess sat us wished my wife a Happy Birthday and then the Manager came over and wished her a Happy Birthday and asked if there was anything we needed. We have been to other restaurants for Birthdays but I can honestly say that the staff did not go out of their way to wish a Happy Birthday as they did here. Now Raul our very professional, courteous, helpful humorous server arrived with a Happy Birthday and a great big smile. Raul was patient explaining about everything we asked. He showed us the differences in menu items and made recommendations. Everyone here was just over the top and made this birthday dinner one for the books. I can tell you, this was my first time at Trulucks, but it will not be my last, they now a loyal customer who will definitely be back. When you go you have to ask for Raul and just enjoy being there. I had the steak and it was fantastic, my wife had the Prime King Crab and we both had stone crab for appetizers. The wedge salad was...
Read moreI took my wife here for her birthday. Made reservations on OpenTable which was a seamless experience. We were greated and seated quickly after arrival. The host sprinkled confetti stars on the table and provided us menus. Followed by a waiter who took our drink order and poured us water. My wife had the Viola with vodka and I stuck with my favorite, a classic, the Old Fashioned. We decided to get strait to business and skip the appetizers. We did however order a Caesar Salad which I asked for an extra plate so we could split it and they brought it out already split on our own plates and it was plenty! With fresh lemon on the side you can really taste the freshness of the dressing, and the anchovies! We tried to order bread but it never came. Note to Self: Don’t tell the servers you want to order something. (we weren’t charged) I ordered the Redfish Ponchartrain and added two Scallops. She had the Ribeye with the added Lobster Thermidor. Both of these dishes were so delicious! The table warmed butter for the steak is a great touch. The fish was spectacular and the scallops were perfect. We ordered Truffle Fries, Broccoli, & the Lobster Mashed Potatoes as sides and were not disappointed. The fries were fresh and crisp. The Broccoli was fresh and delicious with fresh squeezed lemon. Didn’t know I needed it. The star of the show is without question the Lobster Mash. The amount of Lobster was substantial. These never miss. For Dessert the restaurant provided their signature Baked Alaska with a flame show. Perfect touch for my wife who had never been or experienced this. Her first time trying a baked Alaska and she couldn’t get enough. Really, I feel like this dessert is not given enough credit. I let my sweet tooth get the best of me and went ahead and ordered and Affogato. Then the waiter mentioned a limited time Chocolate Cheesecake which I couldn’t resist so I got one of those also. The Affogato was delicious as always. A must really. The cheesecake I could see being something you will either love or hate. Very strong flavor profiles from the cherries and real chocolate. I loved it and so did my wife. This has always been one of my favorite places to dine and celebrate events. Prior this trip I hadn’t been in 6 years, when I celebrated my 30th birthday. I am definitely not going to let that much time go by without making a trip back.
(The service was ok overall. We did feel we weren’t given the attention or same type of service other tables in our area were receiving by the same waiter but I imagine this could vary on each visit...

My fiancé and I decided to try this place for dinner last night. We love seafood and steak, so we went for it!!
The moment you walk in the door, The hostess as well as one of the restaurant managers greeted you with such a warm welcoming smile. They were so kind & genuine.
The ambience of this restaurant was absolutely exquisite. They has someone singing and playing the piano at the bar, but you heard it clearly in the restaurant. However, it wasn’t too loud. It was so nice! There are fresh roses on the table, the lights were dimmed, and the booths were big and spacious!
Now, I have been to several fine dining restaurants, however I’ve never been to a restaurant that had lit up menus! I was SURPRISED lol now that was SO COOL!
Our server was Hilary. She was the sweetest, most attentive server ever. Thank you for everything!!
As for the food, I don’t feel like my words could thoroughly explain how phenomenal their chefs are. I’ve been in the culinary field for over a decade, so my standards are a bit high. However, all of my expectations were met!
For starters, the bread, calamari, and wedge salad were wonderful! I have never had calamari like this. The vegetables were cooked to the perfect crunch! And, it came with two different dipping sauces which paired perfectly with the flavor of the calamari. The bacon on the wedge salad was a little too crunchy for my liking, but Someone else may have loved it.
I ordered the scallops, My fiancé ordered the Texas redfish. We both added on a 7 ounce fillet. In addition to our meals, we ordered some mushrooms. The scallops were perfectly cooked, and so buttery! He was overjoyed with how delicious a his fish was as well.
For dessert, we ordered the carrot cake. It came with an order of butterscotch drizzle and candied pecans. The carrot cake alone was excellent! Very moist and the cream cheese was yummy as well. I liked the carrot cake without the butter scotch, but he liked it with a butter scotch. So it’s really a matter of preference.
Overall, this was probably one of the best dining experiences I’ve had in years. We will be back as soon...
