The shift leader at the Troy Rd. in Huber Heights Ohio, for the time we were there, around 5pm, was very unknowledgeable about their gift card policy. We had a gift card sent to my bf for his birthday for 10 dollars off and it was still good, did not expire till next year. He claimed that they quit taking them 2 weeks prior to the time we were there. I said it has not expired He just got it that month like 2 or 3 weeks before we went to eat there. He claimed his manager told him to no longer accept them. I told him that was BS and we told him that we have had a bad experience before this one at the same IHop and this done it for us. He apologized but said he still was not able to take the gift card. Not to mention i asked for my bacon to be crisp that was being put in my omlett and it was not close to that. There was a door dash person that came in after us that waited 15 minutes for their food and we still waited at least 20 minutes after that before we got our food. We were the only customers there at the time. Another group of maybe 5 people which were together csme in about 15 minutes after us. Took the waiter a while to even check on us let alone take care of the door dash orders and the other 5 people that came in after us So the next day I called to speak to the manager and the DM from Dayton Ihop on Miller Lane was there because both managers were off that day. Her name was Roan. She was all about helping, or seemed to be anyway. Claimed she called about getting us refunded the 10 bucks, I went in to show her the gift card and she kept it to supposedly take care of the situation. I called several times for about a week and a half and even got put on hold for 45 minutes, so I drove to Miller Lane very upset and ready to go off on someone When I walked in, 2 men were waiting to be seated. I overheard one of them say, it is up to u we could wait or go somewhere else, they did acknowledge that they were waiting He said. I told them, no worries, I been on hold for 45 minutes, they r about to get an ear full. They said well that is not a good indication and they left. A tall dark waiter came up and asked me if he could help me, I told him I wanted to speak to the manager NOW. He got her and I asked her who the hell put me on hold and never came back to help me? I showed her my phone so she could see it showed I had been on hold for the past 45 minutes. She proceeded to apologize and said they had been having issues with their system because the registers were down. So she checked the phone and claimed it also was not working. I then told her why I was there and she told me that she was Roan and she did not know why the money had not been refunded still but would check on it. I gave her my number and never heard back from her. So then I called the Ihop on Troy in Huber Heights sbout a week and a half later and spoke to Katie after speaking to the host/waiter. I explained everything to her about what had happened and what I was dealing with from the DM Roan. She told me that this was the girst she heard about the incident. Seemed funny since the DM said she would let her know and was going to talk to the waiter/2nd shift lead. Katie told me to come in and she would take care of it by giving me 10 dollars in cash. When I went there a few minutes after hanging up with her, she was unavailable and gave an envelope with the 10 dollars in it to the host/waiter to give to me and had him tell me she was in a meeting. We have never had such horrible service or communication problems anywhere else that we have went to eat. This was so disgraceful, disrespectful and very unprofessional, the worst in the restaurant profession I have ever dealt with. They lost our business for sure. I would go anywhere else and suggest any place else to anyone that would ask me of good places to eat. Ihop has no place on my list of places to eat anymore whether it is at Huber Heights or on Miller lane in Dayton. Far as I am concerned they r all horribly ran. They obviously do not care.....

Read moreWe went to this particular IHOP in Huber Heights, pretty late one evening. We got there at almost 1am. When we got there, there was one employee who was supposed to be working the front end and one table with someone sitting there(I think it was a friend of the employee). There were no other customers seated at the time when we walked in. The employee was sitting down chatting with the person who was seated and she had us standing there for close to fifteen minutes before our group of three was even acknowledged. By that time there were two groups waiting to be seated. Our group and another large group of 7 to 8 people. Upon getting sat at our table she gave us the menu's and was gone for a good half an hour before she even took drink orders or acknowledged anyone again. This was the trend throughout our visit. It took almost an hour to even get a drink and the food took even longer. When she brought the food, she brought it for two of us who were in our group and forgot my daughters pancakes completely. We thought she was going back to get them and we didn't see her again for another twenty to twenty five minutes. She completely forgot my daughters order. She claimed they had to remake it but she didn't even realize she had forgotten it and so we had to wait on her food to get done after her acknowledgement of the plate missing at the table and she kinda acted like it was our fault that the pancakes weren't there which was really confusing lol. Idk what was going on with this waitress but this is the same thing she did to the other people who were there that night. The other people were so upset they were about to leave. We would have too but by this point it was already a committed process and I honestly wanted to see how long this venture at IHOP was going to take. We didn't get out of there until almost 3:30am or a little after. There is no reason this venture should have taken that long. This was the first time I had been to an IHOP and while the food was good, the service was honestly the most horrible I've experienced in a very long time. We had decided to go to IHOP instead of Sheetz across the street which would have been cheaper and a lot faster. When people are paying for a meal and paying 60 dollars plus tip. It is expected to have the service that is part of that pricing. Sheetz would have been cheaper and much faster. The service at Sheetz is at least efficient each time we've gone. We also at least get acknowledged at Sheetz and don't feel like we're invisible when we're paying customers. Overall the whole experience wasn't a great one. I'm pretty dissatisfied in my first...

Waited 10 minutes to be sat after the host was writing names down wrong (for instance he wrote Macy instead of Massie for a party) so people were getting confused and one party even walked out causing the manager to chase after them to come back in. We finally get to our table and had to wait 10 mins before we were even approached by a server. That server wasn't even our server but said our server (Jamie) was running around like a chicken with her head cut off (how reassuring right?!?) but he was nice enough to get the 2 children at our table some applesauce pouches, as they were getting about as impatient as the 3 adults at our table. Our server finally comes over and gets our drink order (3 waters and 2 kids apple juices) and we also give our food order since we knew what we wanted. It took another 10-12 mins to get our drinks. Finally, another 15 mins later, food comes out and it's not even our food. Correct order comes out a couple mins later and my uncle found an (about) 3 inch white clothing material thread in his country steak, my aunt's loaded hash browns were plain, and she didn't get her crepes. Serve takes my uncle's plate back and requested the manager to remake the plate after verifying with him how the eggs needed to be cooked (over medium) but when the plate came back out 5 mins later the eggs were hardly done (not even over easy as the whites were very soft and watery still.) Even after all of this we still don't have my aunt's crepes or corrected hash browns. Another five minutes pass and the server brings out the corrected loaded hash browns and tells us that "the cooks said that they would get the crepes when they got to them because they have other things going on," to which we reply "Uhhhhm, what?" She said "Yeah, so I'll bring them out when they are done." Crepes come out ANOTHER 5 mins later and were luke warm. All the food was mediocre and "bleh" tasting. We just wanted to get out of there so we just finished what we wanted and asked for a box for the two kids meals and the bill. About 10 mins later, and after my uncle left in order to get back to work since he was already late, we get our box and bill, which the main manager on duty cut in half. Even after the bill being discounted, we won't ever be back to...
