I can’t give this place high praise. This place has been there 20 years and does well of course. I’m from Buffalo and I knew that this would be as close as I could get being away from home. Was in town for business and drove 30 minutes to get there. We went cause it was Friday and they offer a fish fry like back home during Lenten season. Let’s start from the beginning. Walked in they hand you a menu and tell you to sit anywhere (that’s ok) they were busy and it looks like there is one person going around taking orders at tables and it took a while for that person to get to the table (which turns out to be the owner) so it seems like no servers on the floor covering tables which would of been faster service. So we ordered the fish fry and asked if they have loganberry (drink from Buffalo) they said they were out. So we get the food and I asked the person who brought it out if this was double fries as I ordered since I didn’t want slaw so I asked for double fries. (Her answer was I just go by the ticket, nothing more from her.) So it seems everything is self service since I could not find anyone to ask for napkins or vinegar for my fish. So I had to go up to the window and get my vinegar and to a self service table for my napkins. So let me make a couple observations from some one from Buffalo, the decor is filled with all Buffalo (A+). Table and chairs look 20 years old and so close to each other your hitting other tables and chairs and holding your breath in as you walk around to get around other tables(F) service well it’s seems like a system that they have gotten away with for 20 years and works for them. But I do not understand why they don’t have servers if your a full service restaurant then maybe you won’t have to wait to place your order and get up to get things when you need them, but it works for them (D) let’s get to the food so 1 fish fry $17.99 and 1 jr fish fry $14.99. I asked for no slaw extra fries on the jr fish fry no way was that extra fries on my order. Let’s get to the fish. 100% on point. One of the best I had, just like home. Now to the biggest problem take a look at the jr size for $14.99 one of the biggest overcharged item I have seen on this trip. $17.99 for the fish fry ok can accept that but 14.99 for the other is 100% overcharging (F) That order should be at the most 9.99. This is not a $14.99 plate. I will never go back and I know that my little review will not hurt there business at all. I wish them well but I think if you going to charge $14.99 for an item you need to make people feel that it was worth the money they spent in your restaurant.UPDATE after owners response: (1)To be clear I never say I am from the Buffalo Bills also the picture is NOT there logo or a trademark. So report whatever you feel that is a trademark violation since you are the trademark police. (2) My habit is only to review places that I visit and spend my hard earned money, all my reviews are my honest feelings about my visit, and not all are negative. Now you reference to the gentlemen who took my order who said he was the owner along with his sister in the kitchen, i can only go by what I was told. When I asked for extra fries and no slaw he made no indication that was a problem since he said YES.Which goes back to the $14.99 price. So the small portion of fish and a handful of fries(since you really don't portion control them) makes it even worse, but to charge that for that little portion is out of line. My review is what I felt at the time i was there. But for you to take the time to break down my review, you might want to take a look at other negative reviews of your place and instead of wanting to report me for trademark infringement, you would of thought to say something like I am sorry you felt this way, why don't you come by and give us a second chance and we can make you a bigger portion and you can review it again but instead you decided that my visit is not important and my return does not matter. Next time think twice about your first time customers. BE GOOD DO GOOD GOD...
Read moreI am posting this on behalf of my wife, who endured the worst customer service ever:
To whom it may concern (Lisa or Jenn),
I received the worst customer service in my entire life tonight. I ordered a panther pack and an additional cauliflower crust cheese pizza to be delivered to my home. I spent a total of $105 including the tip for the driver.
The driver had the 50 wings and the cheese pizza on top of the 1/2 sheet pizza, bending the box in, smashing the pizza, thus the pictures and video. I was willing to accept the smashed pizza, if it had been what I ordered. It was not. It had no pepperoni.
So I called the restaurant to say the pizza had no pepperoni. The woman I spoke to told me that my pizza had to have pepperoni on it; that you all have been in business since 2003 and if it didn't gave pepperoni on it, the cook would be fired.
We went back and forth and she told me that I was mistaken and that the pizza had pepperoni. Wow....I was sitting there looking at a pizza she had never seen before, but nevertheless, she told me I was mistaken. She told me to take pictures and send them to her. I took video and pictures.
So needless to say I returned the pizza to the store where she then told me it looked like I had picked the pepperoni off of the pizza.
Let me clarify something....
I make a six figure salary.
I left my beautiful 3700 sq ft home to return a pizza that was missing $2 worth of pepperoni.
My time is MUCH MORE VALUABLE than trying to scam you out of $2 worth of pepperoni.
Then she called the order cook up who said he was almost positive he put pepperoni on it. Then she called the delivery driver up who lied and said the box was not dented when he delivered it to me.
I then reminded him of what he told me when he handed me the box with the other items on top of it. He said, "be careful. The box is really heavy, unusually heavy." And he could not dispute his own words coming back to him.
This is when I showed her the pictures and the video that she told me to take....she of course could not dispute the facts at that point.
She angrily and reluctantly said she would replace the pizza. But after a few minutes I requested my money back out of fear this team of liars would do something unethical to the pizza. She refused to refund me, so I left.
My husband was having a poker night with his friends, several of whom patronize your business. The pizza was for them. One is actually from Buffalo. The friends that have patronized you before said that the service is always horrible, and that the manager is known to be a "b*", his words, not mine. And the only reason they go is bc the food is decent. Well, I doubt they will be patronizing you again.
The audacity Jenn or Lisa had (not sure what her name is bc she lied about it) to treat a customer this way who spent over $100 during Covid is unbelievable.
I messaged the FB page but my comment was deleted. I tried to inbox you, but your messenger is now unavailable to me.
All because your manager could not provide DECENT customer service and replace my pizza or refund me without accusing me of lying about pepperoni?
I am sure this is not what your family had in mind when they started this pizzeria.
I am requesting a refund for the pizza. Not the entire order, but just the pizza. That is more than fair.
I look forward to...
Read moreI Went to taste of buffalo to pick up a lunch order, for 2 people, coming from charlotte. I have been there several times. I went inside to place the order I ordered 2 order of wings, one mild and the other tangy mustard along with a personal size Philly steak pizza. The Philly steak pizza was great. I called to tell them the wings were cooked to hard and they said to bring them back. I said it may take me awhile because im coming from charlotte to Huntersville, they said ok. Once I arrived i showed them the wings and they agreed and offered to make me more wings. I told the guy working with her that people with dentures couldnt handle that chicken. When the cook got ready to put the wings down I was looking at him and said please cook them 8-10 min. THE COOK TOOK SOME REFRIED CHICKEN AND PUT IN THE BASKET, THE YOUNG LADY AT THE REGISTER TOLD THE COOK TO GET IT OUT OF WHITE BUCKET. She told him to wait on that meaning (the refried chicken)and I set my timer for my chicken. Once the chicken was almost done I was still watching so she was acting like she was waiting for a pizza to come out the oven but was holding the pizza board up so I couldn't see, as she walked closer him, she told him to drop it in 30 seconds so when the buzzer went off there was one fresh batch and the other was the refried chicken. When she saw me still looking, she wanted to show me the chicken which was clearly what I saw. I told her one was fresh and the other wasn't and she got an attitude said they were dropped at the same time. Not true And told her what I saw and she said take it or leave or give her, her moneyback. I touched the refried one and said this is clearly not fresh she said she touched it and we can't resale it. Asked me do I want it or do I want my money back. I took the fresh one but I requested my money back for the other one as I told her I paid for this with my money it works like everybody elses and I would like my food cooked right. As she complained about it at the register, I told her you getting an attitude about my food that I paid for.
It wasn't about the drive there or what I paid for it, although the chicken was bad her attitude was even worse and me watching and seeing what happened and her trying to tell me different. NO.
She needs to learn how to talk to people i may have been the first one to complain today about the chicken, but definitely not the first. I clearly wanted what I paid for not some old dried out chicken.
But just because you pay for something don't mean you want something old. If you pay for it, you want what you payed for. That's something you need to check on. I don't usually come on here with bad reviews, but this is something that needs to be checked. People want good chicken and far as I know from upstate, and that's where I'm from. Usually we get good service, so if you're gonna practice it being that you came from upstate, keep it up, don't try inside change trying to fake...
