One of the rare moments I've given a 1 star. First off let's get the food out of the way. The appetizers were not up to par. We had the mixed appetizer plate. Minus the pita bread that was on the menu. A very small serving of Humas was grainy and salty. tabouleh was bland. It would've been decent if it came with the pita bread, but alas there was no server around to ask if everything was alright. Grape leaves we good and small. Not worth the $19.95 price. Would've been nice to have more water to wash down the salty appetizer, but again no server around. We had the soggy pizza that was way too undercooked. The seafood pasta was pretty good. A good helping of fish and pasta with 1 small broccoli and 2 shrimp. Well seasoned. My friends had the cheese ravioli and Lamb Shish kabob. Which was served 15 minutes before my meal. So I encouraged them to eat without me. I was told the ravioli was cold inside, but tasted decent enough. We really couldn't ask our server for anything, not even an extra napkin since they were inside the restaurant and we were outside.
Atmosphere: It was rather chilly. They have 6-7 heaters, but only 3 were on.
Since it is outdoors, a guy was smoking right in the middle of everyone. There was a couple who brought thier 2 dogs which were constantly barking. The table next to us were just as annoyed with the dogs as us.
When we paid at the end we asked for separate checks. The server got the order messed up and charged the wrong card to the meal. We told the manager.... the reply from the manager, I assume he was the manager, was quote "Oh well" and walked away. I worked in 2 fine restaurants before. so I'm used to stacking plates for the server and tidying up a little. I stacked the plates. Except for 1 plate. The server came to pick it up and I gave her the other plate to stack. Mind you it was plates. This is were I got upset and decided I'm not coming back. She said in a loud sarcastic manner, "What, do you think I have 2 hands?" Ive never been treated this way in a restaurant before. Definitely not...

Their menu is kind of cluttered, and what I was originally going to order was only offered for lunch. So, be careful in reading their menu, it can be a little confusing.
My friend and I got the falafel plate as an appetizer, and that was good. I'm a big fan of falafel, and their plate was wonderful. Only downside is that their pita wasn't the kind that they let you open to stuff the falafel in.
They actually ended up serving us our appetizer and main course at the same time, which was a little overwhelming because it was too much food at once, but all their dishes were wonderful. I ended up getting the gyro pizza and my friend got the Mediterranean pizza. Looks wise, they don't look the most appealing, BUT they taste really good! Was so glad I got my pizza and even happier that I got to take some home for leftovers.
Their servers were wonderful and especially careful about my friend's dietary needs.
Price wise, this is definitely a little more expensive, but considering we got a discount, I would say it was worth the price.
Since this is Huntington Beach Main Street, parking can be a struggle. There are lots of metered parking spaces, which I recommend, because the parking garage is very expensive and only some places offer validation for 120 minutes. If you don't get validated, the charge is $1.25 every 15 minutes.
Note: If you check-in on Yelp, there is a 15% discount! Note: Everyday, the meats that are halal change, so be sure to...
Read moreThe falafel was good but a little over cooked. I ordered the chicken bowl for dinner and it was fabulous! The baklava is great and not too sweet but it's very, very tiny. The cream puffs were also good (and you get more). I'm giving this place 2 stars because although the food was good for the most part, the service was awful! I will never return due to the terrible service. The server stood at the hostess stand while we sat and waited to he greeted and then ealked around to help every other table in the restaurant. Then after we did order our drinks, my boyfriend got his beer before I got my water. Also a table that came in a few minutes after us received his water and another table got their drinks, all before I got my water. We didn't see our server much. Some other girl brought all of our food, took our dishes, and have us our check back. We tipped her before we left. Our server also waited 10 minutes after we ordered our dinner, to ask us what we ordered again because he never entered it in. By the time we left, I noticed he acted so busy (he was with many tables) but he had so much time to stand outside and look at the street, talk to the host often and converse and SIT DOWN with other tables, but couldn't service us. His name was Dylan or something...
