HORRIBLE!!!!! My sister & I went to Another Broken Egg on Pelham to have breakfast & as soon as the hostess seated us, there was a press on fingernail on the floor right at our table, which I noticed right away, but didn’t think too much of it because I assumed it was probably from a previous customer. WELL let me tell you how wrong I was!!! When my food came out, which I ordered the Cinnamon Roll French Toast w/bacon & eggs, what do I find in my eggs??? THE SAME EXACT PRESS ON FINGERNAIL LIKE THE ONE THAT WAS ON THE FLOOR!!! I immediately called our waiter, Freddie, over to inform him of this issue and he too was just as perplexed, but what got me is he instantly was looking at me and my sister hands as if the fingernail belonged to one of us! Mind you, neither of us are wearing fake nails. My sister literally had nothing on her nails & I had black gel polish on my natural nails. So once Freddie sees the nail doesn’t belong to either of us, he took the plate and stated he would talk to his manager (Harley) about it. A few moments later, Harley & Freddie comes back to our table & Harley ask me was that my plate, which she had in hand & I told her it was. She then asked if I complained about a fingernail being in my food & rudely said “I don’t even know where it is” dug through the eggs to find the fingernail & once she located it, she very defensively said that she checked & the fingernail didn’t belong to anyone in her kitchen!!! So I instantly got upset because 1) how dare this woman not take any responsibility for a fingernail being in my food when it clearly came out of their kitchen and was served to me, which leads to my second point! 2) by Harley, the so called manager, not taking accountability for this mishap, led me to believe she was insinuating that either my sister or I placed the fingernail in my food, which really upset me to the fullest!!! Therefore I proceeded to loudly tell her that clearly it came from their kitchen that way because the SAME EXACT FINGERNAIL IS ON THE FLOOR RIGHT BY OUR TABLE!!!! Of course, she was caught off guard by me pointing out the same exact fingernail being on the floor so all she said was “it’s not ours, but I’ll take care of it”. AGAIN TAKING NO RESPONSIBILITY!!! Is this how management at Another Broken Egg treat situations such as this?! Blame the customers! I’m truly baffled!! And to add insult to injury, she NEVER came back to address how she was going to rectify this issue & our waiter, Freddie, literally avoided our table until he had no other choice but to see if we needed anything else. Mind you we were sitting and watching how he serviced other customers but straight avoided us as if he didn’t want to deal w/the issue at hand. Poor customer service at its finest! When he did finally come over, he asked if we needed anything else. Like really! I told him I would like for his manager to come back & discuss how she was planning to take care of this issue, but of courses she never came back out & instead sent Freddie to tell me that she would take my meal off the bill, but I still had to pay for my sister’s meal. In my humblest opinion, I don’t feel I should have had to pay for anything considering how the manager handled the situation (indirectly blaming me) & the waiter avoiding us. I get things like this are prone to happen, but not acknowledging that it was a mishap on their part definitely turned me off! Therefore, I WILL NEVER EVER STEP FOOT IN THIS ESTABLISHMENT EVER AGAIN!!! Please see the pictures of said NASTY fingernails that HARLEY didn’t want to claim 🙄

I recently visited Another Broken Egg Cafe in Huntsville, AL, and I was thoroughly impressed! As a vegetarian, it can be challenging to find good options when dining out, but this restaurant exceeds the expectation. They have an entire vegetarian menu, and they’re very accommodating about making adjustments to items on the regular menu as needed. They also have a gluten free menu. We went early on a Sunday morning, before the crowd that often comes prior to church services. The place was quiet and peaceful, which made for a very enjoyable dining experience. I ordered the Southwest Scramble, removed the meat, and added spinach and mushrooms. It was absolutely delicious! To enhance the flavor, I requested sour cream and hot sauce, which were the perfect finishing touches. The breakfast potatoes were a standout—perfectly crisp and wonderfully seasoned. As someone who loves lemon in my water, I was thrilled when my waitress brought me plenty, just as I requested. She was very attentive, promptly refilling our drinks and water throughout the meal. There was a small mix-up when someone at our table ordered an item not realizing it included bacon. The mistake wasn’t the waitress’s fault—it was ordered incorrectly—but she still apologized sincerely and replaced the dish quickly without any hassle. While the food and service were fantastic, it’s worth noting that the meal was a bit on the expensive side, costing about $20 per person. However, the quality of the food and the excellent service made it a special occasion option. Another Broken Egg Cafe is a great spot for a delicious breakfast or brunch, especially if you’re looking for vegetarian-friendly options.

I will preface this review by sharing how much I love brunch, and that I am spoiled to spectacular brunch spots back in the Denver, Colorado area. That said, there is a minimum quality bar that I expect even by local standards, and based on one single experience, this restaurant did not meet it. It’s truly unfortunate, because this seems to be one of the most prominent local chain of brunch restaurants. The service was slow but adequate, which was fine for an off peak time on a Wednesday morning. Their coffee cups are very nice, and this location was large and inviting. The coffee and breads were just ok, the potatoes were old and dry, and the omelettes were bland and just odd in flavor and texture. I don’t eat sausage, but my husband always gets an extra side of it (see photo) and he said it was the strangest and worst breakfast sausage he’s ever had. This is the first time he has ever walked away without finishing breakfast, and for that reason I doubt I’ll be trying another location to give this place a second chance anytime soon. If I do return, I’ll be trying the pancakes, as I’ve heard great things about them. If the competition happens to stumble upon this review, please please please build a First Watch, Original Pancake House, Snooze, La Peep, or even a Village Inn in North Alabama! 🤞Brunch should feel like a treat!
