Great food, awful location.

The good - Jack Brown's has great burgers. They are small and expensive, but delicious. The patty is well-seasoned and cooked thin and smashed. If you prefer a thick burger with pink in the middle, you won't find that here. However, while not listed on the menu, you can add a second or third patty if the burger is too small for you. They don't have lettuce or tomato. If you need that on a burger, go elsewhere. Don't expect appetizers or a variety of sides. In addition to burgers, Jack Brown's has a grilled cheese sandwich, fries, sweet potato fries, and fries Oreos. Both the regular and sweet potato fries are crinkle cut. The regular fries are amazing with their beer cheese sauce. The sweet potato fries are perfect with the house sauce. The fried Oreos are an indulgence worth trying - think beignet with cookie center. You can buy them individually. Pro tip - if you are thinking about customizing your burger, check out their online order website for a more thorough list of options.

The bad - The seating situation is ridiculous and parking downtown can be limited. The building is tiny. Inside, they have a small bar with maybe 10 seats, a few high top 2-seater tables, and 1 low top table that seats 4 people. It is not for the mobility impaired or anyone who hates bar stools. Outside, they have 4 plastic picnic tables. Each table can sit 4-8 people depending on how snuggly you want to sit. Don't bother asking to move the tables together because it's not permitted. If you have a large group and you want to sit together, go elsewhere. Seeing as so much of their seating is outdoors, you'd think Jack Brown's would cover the space and keep it open. Unfortunately, you'd be wrong. They don't have an awning or other covering for their "patio" space. Two of the four tables have an umbrella for some shade. There are no trees for shade. On a hot, sunny day, the plastic outdoor tables get too hot to touch, let alone sit on. If you are wearing jeans, you may have sufficient protection. If you are wearing shorts or lighter weight material, it's painful. That limits outdoor seating only to the tables with umbrellas and only those specific seats at the table where the umbrella is providing shade. If it rained at all that day, the outdoor dining area will probably be closed even if it's stopped raining and isn't supposed to rain again. Since all but one of their low-top tables is outside and the outside tables are only tables that accommodate a larger group, closing the patio significantly reduces their already extremely limited seating. All of that means, unless you want takeout, going to Jack Brown's is a gamble that often ends in having to go to a different...

Took the wife and kids put to lunch and we decided to check out Jack Brown's on the advice of a coworker. Walked in and definitely got hole in the wall bar vibes but staff was super friendly, no one blinked twice at our kids and we were seated immediately.

This place is a burger place. They kind of have a kids menu (Hamburger for $8.99, hot dog [they were out] and grilled chese) but it isn't advertised as a kid's menu, more of the Basics. This place is a tad pricey at $12 burgers without fries but the quality is good and you can add another 1/4 patty for $3.50 which helps the value proposition a lot. They had about 8 beers on tap and when I randomly ordered on because I had a hard time reading the menu our server wanted me off, even though it was $18 and would have padded his tip total nicely -- I appreciate staff who can confidently make recommendations.

I got the Classic Jack with an extra patty, wife got another specialty burger and the kids got a grilled cheese and a plain hamburger. My daughter asked for lettuce on her burger and the server apologized and said they were a "fancy burger place", complete with air quotes and that they didn't serve lettuce unfortunately, which was hilarious. They did have a bunch of specialty burgers, like the Elvis with Peanut butter, bacon, mayo and American cheese. We also ordered two sides of fries to split. Service throughout was prompt and courteous and on point -- me and the wife both thought we had a manager serving tables, which shows the level and quality of service we got.

Food came out in a reasonable amount of time and was delicious. I took pictures and while it may not look great that's only due to bad lighting. They're easily better than 5 Guys and on par or better that Farm Burger. Superior to Red Robin, while the JD sauce is also good. We ordered two fried oreos and they were also hot and very good. Overall great food.

Ambiance was a little loud but not to the point you couldn't hear each other -- music was 90s grunge mostly with two Stone Temple Pilots appearances. Indoor seating was cozy and limited, I'm sure the place is has a packed outdoor patio when the weather is nicer. Cool place for a date night, would return again and recommend...

How do I put this. So let's start by saying the food was good. My friends that joined me enjoyed their food as well. Now to what we had to endure to get this good burger. Upon on arriving we notice that they were pretty busy so I wanted to get on the waiting list to dine. There were several person's standing in the lobby to get on the list including me.I was located at the open door in which I was told the door has to be closed, cool I stepped out to make this happen. After some persons were seated there was room for me to step back in to get on the list. At this point it's been about 10 minutes just to get on the list, As I'm waiting to get on the list again and to be acknowledged or if I needed assistance more people came into the lobby to get on the list. At that time a lady came over to assist and started to sign people on the waiting list right in front of me. She didn't ask who was next or anything just started to assign persons on the list.I quickly told her while she was signing others up that I had been waiting to get on the list. She gave this smug look and continued to sign the party in that just walked right in front of me.I finally got signed in behind two parties that walked in ahead of me. We waited outside another 15 minutes to watch the two parties that walked in way after I had been there be seated. The two guest that I was with at this point were like man we can just leave and I told them no. It is important that this place understand what they did. After being seated and receiving our food, I told the server what could have been done differently at the front door. She explained to me that they usually have a hostess and tonight they didn't.I discussed with her the importance of acknowledging consumers if you dont know the order they came by asking who was next. This didn't happen. She apologized and thank me for making her aware. She took$5 off of the check which wasn't necessary but accepted. I've been in Huntsville all my life and I love my city. When it comes to downtown, it's a nostalgic uncomfortable feeling for minorities that we are not received in Establishments. This is sad that in 2023 those feeling are the same. Do I speak of all businesses downtown no, but on this visit it...

Fun little addition to the square in downtown Huntsville. We visited last weekend for lunch and had a good time. It's a fairly small joint and seating is limited, but they do have indoor and patio options. We wound up at a tall table in the corner -- close enough to the open door and fresh air that we were comfortable. All employees are still wearing masks, which is appreciated. Jack Brown's has a very limited menu -- it's pretty much exclusively burgers and your choice of regular or sweet potato fries, plus fried Oreos for dessert. They do have one or two grilled cheeses as well. There are multiple specialty burgers as well as a rotating burger of the day. The creations are innovative, sometimes a little eyebrow raising, but by and large yummy-sounding. Burgers are made with wagyu beef and typically run at around $8-10 depending on the toppings. Fries are extra. You can get out for under $15 a head fairly easily, though, which isn't too bad for downtown. All three of us got the Dr. Gonzo -- basically a mushroom and Swiss burger + bacon with regular fries. The fries were crinkle cut and enjoyable with their accompanying comeback sauce. The burger was quite good. Very juicy patty, crispy bacon, not overloaded with mushrooms but plenty to taste, and the bun didn't get mushy. My only complaint is that I asked for mine without onions, but they put them on anyway. I thought the burgers were a reasonable size and I was full. Service was very good, especially our waiter, John. He was available and prompt without hovering and had a kind and warm demeanor. Overall, this is one of the better burgers I've had in Huntsville (though Peppered Pig edges this place out for me), and I would definitely return.
