My family was in town and I wanted to take them to some local place that I've heard good things about. Bee's knees was on that list. I ordered the steak sandwich and let me say that the steak was cooked to perfection and if I come back I'd absolutely get a steak here if it would be cooked anything like the steak in the sandwich. Unfortunately because of all of the juices the bread got soggy really quick, I would think that this could be resolved or at least somewhat alleviated by serving the sandwich on a small individual sized tray with the sandwich on a rack similar to how some other restaurants do this to keep the food from getting soggy. My wife got the chicken Alfredo with fries and the Alfredo sauce was not very good at all in fact she took one bite and didn't want to eat any more of it. We tried feeding it to our girls and neither of them liked it either. My parents tried both the salmon and the steak salads and they looked delicious and they said that they tasted delicious as well. The entire time the servers didn't offer even a single refill and when they asked at the end if we wanted any boxes we told them no and my wife said that the Alfredo just wasn't good and the server didn't offer any replacement or really give any feedback. In summary the food was good for the most part with the exception of the Alfredo and the issue with the soggy bread but that could be easily fixed. The service however was terrible and it made the automatic large partying gratuity a little frustrating when they literally only took our order initially and then we saw our waitress only to get the bill at...
Read moreI was getting a haircut on a Friday afternoon when my stylist asked me if I had plans for the night. I told her my wife and I were going out for dinner but that we had no idea where and that we always tried to get the other to choose because we have pretty much been to every place in town and we were pretty much bored with the restaurant scene in Idaho Falls. Her face lit up and she asked me if we had ever been to The Bee's Knees. When I told her I had never heard of it before she told me we just had to go there because it was the best place she'd ever eaten at. She said the chicken alfredo and the steak salad were awesome. We decided to give it a try and I am ever so happy we did. The atmosphere was great and everyone was very friendly and attentive. My wife ordered the chicken alfredo and I ordered the pork loin wrapped in bacon. The meals were a twist on what you would usually expect and you could tell the chef took great pride in his craft and were presented well. I loved the fact that the chef helped our waitress when presenting our meals and asked us if everything looked alright. He took great pride in his creations. Both of our meals were cooked to perfection and it was hard to believe that our meals were priced so reasonably. I have eaten at many a high scale restaurant where the meals weren't half as good and were twice as costly. I could not recommend this restaurant more highly and know that anybody who tries it will not be disappointed and will recommend it to others. I can't wait to go back to The Bee's Knees to treat my wife and I to the best meal anywhere in...
Read moreOkay, I just HAVE to share this adorable little spot I discovered last weekend – The Bee's Knees Café on Broadway! This charming breakfast and lunch place is hands down one of the cutest, most wholesome eateries I've been to in Idaho Falls.
First off, the vibe is chef's kiss – think rustic farmhouse meets modern bistro, with honeycomb decor, fresh flowers on every table, and the friendliest staff you'll ever meet. I went for brunch with my bestie, and we were both swooning over how Instagram-worthy everything was (yes, we took approximately 50 photos before even looking at the menu).
Now, the food – OH. MY. GOSH. Their signature "Honey Butter Chicken Biscuit" is life-changing. Fluffy, buttery biscuit, crispy fried chicken, drizzled with their house-made spicy honey butter? I nearly cried it was so good. My friend got the "Avocado Toast Supreme", which came with heirloom tomatoes, microgreens, and the creamiest poached eggs. And don't even get me started on their lavender latte – floral, sweet, and just strong enough to wake you up without the jitters.
What really stood out was the service. Our waitress, Emily, remembered us from a previous visit (how?!), and she recommended their seasonal peach-stuffed French toast, which we obviously had to try. And wow – warm, cinnamon-y, with fresh Idaho peaches? Perfection.
The only downside? They close at 2 PM, so no dinner options. But honestly, that just gives me an excuse to come back for their legendary pancake stack...
