Papa Kelsey's Pizza & Subs — Restaurant in Idaho Falls

Not posting this to bash the place, I just genuinely hope management takes this review into consideration. Specifically came here to support a local business, but it’s difficult for me to want to support a place that doesn’t take safety precautions seriously. Every employee except one was wearing their mask either under their nose or under their chin, and it makes me feel unsafe to eat food made by someone not wearing their mask correctly. We asked for a soda cup, got some 7-Up, and there were brown flakes floating in it, which I can only assume was mold buildup from the machine not being cleaned. We brought it to the staff’s attention, and were given a new cup with literal DIRT on the rim. I got some root beer, set it down in front of my sister and told her just not to drink it. An employee proceeded to go clean the soda machine, but only the outside. I highly recommend all those nozzles be soaked overnight in some boiling water. The number they gave us to take to our table was sticky and had black grime on it. And to top it all off, the employees were throwing what looked like balled up napkins at each other in the back and yelling. Based on the lack of cleanliness I witnessed, I wouldn’t be surprised if their kitchen isn’t clean either. I can honestly say I was scared to eat my food, and I would’ve asked for a refund but the employees were friendly and I didn’t want to be a Karen. First of all, this pizza is expensive for not being very gourmet or special in any way. We used a coupon to get 2 large two topping pizzas (we ordered pepperoni pineapple for one and just cheese for the other) for $16.99, without the coupon, it would have been $32! I feel like it was barely worth the $17 with the coupon. This pizza is about the same price or more than Lucy's Pizzeria but Lucy's is way better. Pier 49 in Utah is about the same price and it is so much more gourmet and delicious. The only reason I don't give it 1 star is because the pizza itself wasn't the worse pizza I've eaten, but it was still not very good. The crust was hard and crusty on the bottom and didn't have the chewy soft texture that good pizza crust usually has. The sauce taste very plain almost like it is just blended up can of diced tomatoes. They did use a lot of cheese which was good, but the cheese itself tasted bland as well, I thought all mozzarella cheese for pizza would taste the same, but nope, their cheese comes from United Dairymen of Idaho, not sure why/if that would matter, but the cheese definitely didn't have the flavor I would have expected, especially with the amount of cheese they used. They also put the pepperoni and pineapple under the cheese, which means neither of them get really cooked, so you are eating warmed up pepperonis (not cooked and kinda crispy) and warmed, not cooked pineapple. My wife and I had a coupon that if we buy one half sandwich (6”) and two medium drinks, we get one half sandwich free. The coupon also had a limit if $6 discount. What is bizarre is that there isn’t a single half sandwich on the menu less than $6.89. Very strange wording: one 6” sandwich free up to $6. My wife and I are not normally one to buy drinks, so in the end it would have been cheaper for us to buy one full length sandwich and split it. So if you typically buy drinks, it was a good deal. But a medium drink is $2.69 each. It did come with a bag of chips which we weren’t expecting and that was nice. The bag is about the size of a normal 1oz bag of chips but it had half the amount of chips. So probably a 1/2 oz bag (haha I can’t remember what it said on the bag).
