Al's Pizza Burger & Fries Joint — Restaurant in Imperial Beach

25 June 2025 I finally tried the food at this establishment for the first time. AND OMG the food is made fresh with fresh oil and ingredients. I took the fox to go and when I got home the fries, chicken tenders, and burger were still hot. I ordered the Texas Bacon Burger it had two large beef patties, with toasted buns. Good size bacon strips inside with a delicious sauce. The French fries are seasoned crispy and fresh. The sauces were delicious and had little kick to them but no over bearing. The chicken tenders were a nice came with 4-5 tenders, not over fried and tasted so good. I would eat here again. I paid average price for two meals with a soda included for the price. For two meals with twice the amount of food I would get a McDonald’s or Jack in the box and Al’s Burgers is better tasting, larger portions, and fresher. Fries did not get stale down to the last one. I was going to say that these are the best burgers in Imperial Beach, but that doesn't go nearly far enough, these are in the top burgers in San Diego, period. I wait until I've been to a place at least 3 times before leaving a review and it's so nice to leave a 5-star review when it's so we'll earned. I've eaten there and I've taken them home and they nail the same rating every time. My favorite burger is Al's burger exactly at it comes. They offer 1/4 lbs and 1/2 lbs burgers and they nail the temperature, every time, I order them medium rare. Their staff is so attentive, welcoming and in the best mood and it's infectious. The shakes are absolutely delicious as well. Going back for a second time. Was thinking about trying something different but Al's burger was so good I might just get another one. Fries were done perfectly.

The second time was even better. Tried both french fries and onion rings. Both were done perfectly. The burgers are big and there is a wide variety of good options. I suggest you start with Al's burger. I really love this place. Not sure what happened to the picture I was going to attach.
