The woman, Mandy, had a terrible attitude. She was visibly either having a really bad day, or just has no respect for customers. I assume she was either a shift leader or manager, so was multitasking, but that doesn't warrant treating people like children. I was the only person at the register when she initially took my order, but needed a few moments after she told me they couldn't serve for allergies. She walked away after that and didn't return for about 10 minutes. She was taking people's orders out to the tables. When she returned, she didn't apologize or even acknowledge that I was obviously standing in a "fast food" restaurant for an excessive amount of time.
It was a Sunday, so they were busier than usual due to the high volume of customers there for the All you Can Eat lunch. I asked her about if there was an option for allergies, and she said no. She told me that they have a sign up somewhere out front that says that. I guess I was supposed to go look for the sign because it was nowhere indoors.
I was even okay with that part. I then asked if I could just order a burger for the person since that should be separate, but she said that the food is "close together" so that wouldn't be an option either. Apparently, they use fish batter to cook their burgers, shrimp, fries, and everything else. I can't see any other reason that someone with shrimp allergy would need to stay away from the burgers and fries.
The guy was very nice and helpful. The woman had such a bad attitude that she screwed up my order, and never added everything I said. She handed me the receipt and walked away without saying thank you or anything. Had she noticed I was still standing there, she would have realized her error, but the guy (younger male, name began with a T) walked up and apologized and helped me from there.
The strawberry shake is just vanilla with a little strawberry syrup on top. Once the strawberries are gone, you have mostly a vanilla shake. The food isn't good at all. It taste like a stale microwaveable dinner. The sides are handed to you in small condiment cups that aren't filled to the top.
The location is convenient, but the layout of the parking lot is horrible. The only logical entrance is "Exit Only." It's silly. They have been there for years, and should be able to afford to fix that by now.
The inside is small and outdated. I wouldn't recommend going here. There are other food chains along the block that taste better, have better prices, and better...
Read moreDisappointed. I've gone here twice over the last couple of months. Both times, I used the drive-thru. The drive-thru wraps around the building and is extremely tight for cars, let alone trucks or vans. The restaurant looks dingy on the outside. Both times, service was extremely slow. Today, was especially slow. I sat, stuck, in the drive-thru for a good 15 minutes with one car ahead of me at the speaker (there were cars ahead of them as well). Once I made my order, it took another good 10 minutes to get up to the service window. And while at the service window, it took easily another 15 minutes to get my order. When I got to the window, the cashier didn't know what I had ordered and she looked like she was almost in tears. She had to tell the kitchen staff repeatedly what she needed and looked like she was the only person working there. I didn't know that drinks did not come with the platters. (You would think one would for the price!) They didn't ask me what 2 sides I wanted, but assumed. When I asked about the drink, they said one didn't come with it, so I was going to order one. The cashier, clearly exasperated to the point of tears by everything going on around her, said don't worry about it and gave me a drink for free. The fish and chicken I got was hot and tasted good. It was visually appealing. The fries they gave me were cold and mushy. The hush puppies were good. They gave plenty of condiments. And the coleslaw tasted fine. Unfortunately, the sweet tea was not sweet tea. It was sugar poured into the bottom of my cup with unsweetened tea on top of that. I don't know where the manager is/was, but I can say, I won't visit here again. I don't think the ownership cares very much about this restaurant, based on how it looked, and I can definitely tell that they don't care about their staff. No one deserves to be treated the way the cashier was being treated. It was clear from her face that she was having more than just a bad day - this was a bad job. I expect that unless things change, they will be going out of...
Read moreSo.. recently we arrived probablym. 10/15 minutes before close, there were already two or three customers waiting in drive-thru. Shortly after getting in line several other cars pulled behind us. Despite it being so late, and although I'm sure they were beyond ready to close; They were patient and explained that some offerings were no longer available as they had begun closing down the kitchen (Grilled items), and that there would probably be a short wait. We were asked to pull around, at which point we saw 4 or 5 more customers pull onto the lot. For reference the time is now 5 minutes before scheduled close. The employee taking orders continued in the same patient, collected, and expedited pace explaining to customers about the wait and offerings, through till the last customer in line. At the scheduled close time, another car attempted to queue in line, at which point our order was being delivered. The employee was kind, seemed happy and probably relieved to finally be closed, delivered our order accurately, and on the return trip explained to the late-comer that unfortunately they had just taken their final order for the night.
Arrived home, and the food was packed securely, stayed hot and fresh, was clearly prepared fresh, and appeared to be on the generous side of portion size.
On previous my previous visit to this location, probably a year or more ago, I absolutely did not have the same experience, and would have recommended avoiding the location. Luckily, this has obviously changed.
Employee performance, attitude, and food quality far exceeded my expectations. Though the biggest improvement by far is in food quality.
I can't be sure if this is a consistent change, or we just got lucky. But based on this visit, I would highly recommend...
