Decided to give it a try here yesterday along with my family last night.
I have to say, the experience I had in this restaurant as a whole was terrible for several reasons.
First, we ordered one appetizer, one combination fried rice and four pho, at the time of 5:50 ish, and waited 30 minutes before appetizer came out, and took even longer for rest of the dishes to come out. It was too slow for our liking, but wouldn't mind waiting for food as long as the food tasted good.
Which brings me to the second point, the fried rice was too sweet. I had fried rice in many different restaurant, and I must say, never in my life had I tasted fried rice that was so sweet, I couldn't taste anything else from it.
Because of the sweet taste, we asked the waiter to take it away. This is where our third disappointment occurred. The waiter, when asked why the fried rice was sweet, he had told us in an unfriendly tone, "that's just how we make it in the restaurant " and "that every restaurant have their own way of cooking". His words made sense, it was reasonable, however, the way he acted and the tone he used was what made our family upset. Instead of trying to make the customers feel cared after, he simply gave an attitude that says, 'If you don't like it, don't come back'. And don't get me started on his attitude afterwards. The waiter had not served us after giving our food on the table, no water refill, not making sure we are doing alright, nor trying to make sure everything was squared away. It wasn't even that busy since there were two waiters in the restaurant. It was neither dinner time nor lunch rush hour.
Lastly, we have informed the manager about our deficit and our dissatisfaction, but did nothing but apologize, and only asked if we want the fried rice remade, after we finished our meal and no longer wished for anything from this establishment. He promised to talk to the waiter but I doubt he kept to his word since I noticed that there was a similar issues with previous customers complaining about the same exact waiter with his attitude issue.
Overall, I would never step my foot in this establishment and would never recommend anyone to come eat here. If possible, I definitely would not give even one star for this place in particular, which says a lot since I have not been so dissatisfied with a restaurant's...
Read morePho yeah! I've decided I need to try new places and expand my horizons, wouldn't you know I opened up yelp to find a place close to me. I'm a huge fan of pho and haven't had it in awhile so I picked off name alone. The place is in a strip mall that faces 82nd Street, I walked in and to the front to ask where to sit and they nicely let me pick wherever I wanted. Naturally, the smallest table to take up the least amount of space, since loan wolf status. The menu is awesome because if you are like me and don't know Vietnamese, a handy guide is appreciated! To get my full glutton experience I started with the guoi Choun (spring rolls) loved them! Shrimp and pork, with I, want to say sprouts and wrapped in a nice little pocket of rice paper. I enjoyed the sauce as well! Peanuty with just the right hit of spices Next to be had was pho, I had a hard time choosing but thankfully they were cool about me waiting. I got the house pho special, in it, was tripe, tendon, rare steak, and meatballs. It was flavor packed and good eating! I personally like to have some before I spice it up, but I almost polished off the whole thing left-handed with chopsticks. To go I took an avocado bubble tea, interesting but good flavor! Great food! Good service!...
Read moreThe rating may be contradictory but there’s a reason. I went to this place looking only for a cold drink, and certainly I found it, we ordered the Vietnamese coffee and the bobba lychee and both were delicious, I decided to order an appetizer (BBQ spring rolls) and they were fresh made and tasty, however there were some sort of red flags:
the pork in the rolls was ham! The roll as such was good, but certainly you wouldn’t expect to have ham in a Vietnamese roll. they offer the beverage as bobba tea ($5) but then they charge $1 additional for the bobba pearls, is bobba or it is not? they had some weird clause that if your party is more than 4 then they will charge a “gratitude” of 18%, this tipping thing is going beyond limits to be honest, this is absolutely non sense for me.
The place was clean and the service was good, I’ll give them another try in...
