Chang Mai Thai Noodles. Chang Mai Thai Noodle Shop's menu features traditional, authentic Thai cuisine and patio dining. In addition to their wide array of noodle soups and appetizers, they serve a variety of entrées and vegetarian selections. You can also sip on a cold beer or your favorite wine while enjoying Chang Mai's relaxed atmosphere. They invite you to drop in for lunch or dinner seven days a week. Food may be Chang Mai's focus, but it's not the only thing they offer. Enjoy a cold one in their stylish and comfortable bar, elegantly appointed with two large-screen TV's and a variety of contemporary furnishings. If you're looking for something stronger than Chang Mai's famously spicy offerings, try a crisp glass of white wine or a frothy pint of beer. People also ask: 1. Why is Chiang Mai popular? Chiang Mai is one of the historical cities located in the north of Thailand, also referred to as “Rose of the North”. It is famous for its historical temples, picturesque mountains, cool weather, and scenic views. Founded in 1296 with rich history and culture. What does Chiang Mai have to offer? The historical capital of the old Lanna Kingdom, Chiang Mai is rich in culture. Holy moly… this place oh my god. If you want some authentic and incredibly delicious Thai food, do yourself a favor and eat here. The atmosphere is great, Johnny/Johnnie who served us is extremely friendly and funny! He was working alone the day we came and he was able to get us our food and drinks in great time, when we were done with our soup/salads he took those away and immediately replaced them with our entrees (I got the duck noodle soup, the duck was delicious and tender ugh so good, my partner got the thom yum soup with tofu he couldn’t stop until it was all gone!) and did the same when he brought our dessert, which was the fried banana with mango ice cream! My stomach is happy as well as my tastebuds. The check didn’t hurt the wallet either! 10/10 highly recommend.

Chiang Mai is a joint I honestly didn’t even know existed. I’m not a big fan of Thai food in general but recently, we made a visit here since the reviews looked good. Came at around 5:30 PM on a Saturday and they weren’t busy and had plenty of tables. We sat outside and our waiter was super friendly and attentive to our table. We started with the calamari and dumplings as an appetizer. The calamari was decent, the dumplings were pretty good. I settled for the Crab Fried Rice as my entree. I was overall super impressed! The portions are huge too and I couldn’t even finish it. The crab was fresh and the rice was great too. Overall, if you’re in Broad Ripple looking for a great Thai restaurant, this is the place!

Actually, wanted to give it a zero star rating..! We,Office team mates, went to this restaurant this Friday afternoon for our team lunch. The waiter lady came to pick our orders after 20 minutes though we were the only people in the restaurant. Me and my husband have clearly mentioned her that we want Thai fried rice with no egg, no meat and no mushrooms.(atleast 4 times) Also we wanted our Soup to be meat free as we are pure vegetarians. She brought the soup and salad. One of our friend have tasted it and told us not to eat the soup as it is having meat. We called her out and asked her "does the soup has meat on it?". she said "It may, I don't know". We are already in hunger. Until then we didn't lose our patience. Simply told her to take the soup from our table. After another 15 minutes she brought us our fried rice. Without even started eating we found hell a lot of mushrooms on it. we are allergic to mushroom and we can't tolerate this time. Moreover we have to get back to office soon. We asked her, "we clearly have told you during our order that we don't want meat and mushrooms, and we can clearly notice too many mushrooms with the rice. what is happening? we wanted our soup to be meat free but you gave us a fish soup?". She replied rudely that we didn't say her "No mushrooms" during our order. We told her to re-do the same order and we want it quite soon as we are getting late for office. She said "You can take a To-Go, don't complaint about delays" rudely. I lost my patience completely and told her "You can't say that. Its our decision to dine here. Go and bring us the food". Surprisingly, she took us our food after 5 minutes. My husband asked her "Have you prepared it again freshly or have you removed the mushrooms simply?". She replied "Yeah,I just removed the mushrooms out of it" . We couldn't even shout at her as we are in our extreme hunger. Don't we know to pick and throw the mushrooms out of our food? My husband told her the same and said we are allergic to mushroom and what if we fall sick? Call your chef out..I wanted to talk with him. She went inside and came back and told us their chef conveyed that "If you want to leave, leave ..have your food elsewhere and he can't come out". Its been a year since i reached America. Not even a single time I totally fed up with the hospitality here..say it a hospital, office, school or anywhere. We just told her go and tell your chef that we will write this as a review for your restaurant.

Such sick peoples!!! Totally a bad experience for us and we didn't have time to dine elsewhere and returned to office, picking a cold...

NEVER GOING AGAIN

I have the worst experience ever. I love Thai food and have been going to this restaurant for years. The Hospitality, With one server in particular Jonny, who is almost always there, Has always been Lackluster, Borderline Rude, and I’ve wondered if there is an underlying Racist Bone. However, I’ve looked over it but Decided not to dine in anymore.

I Just stopped by today to order carry out And he had the audacity to accuse me for Ordering Two orders of fried rice two weeks ago And not paying. I was completely thrown off because First of all, it certainly wasn’t me, Secondly, I would never do such a thing. Lastly, I had already vowed to never dine in there again because of the service. He was adamant about the situation. He did not ask me about it. He told me that it was me.

I was completely flabbergasted to be accused of something that is certainly not true and this is a place that I frequent so I do Care about my integrity wherever I go. I proceeded to tell him that it definitely was not me and asked him if he has the name of who it was. He said “oh I thought that was you”. I told him that he should never have accuse me without even asking any questions and that it’s very offensive to be accused of something that you did not do, especially when you have no sound evidence based on why you thought it was me other than you thought that I look like the person.

Based on his gestures and body language, It’s safe to assume that he realized he had picked the wrong person and acknowledge that I’m always patronizing and have for years. However, he never apologized even after me stating how offended I was that he wrongly accused me. So this was my final straw and the order that I had today was absolutely horrible AND CARELESSLY THROWN TOGETHER. I’m assuming that IT was intentional as he mentioned that the cook acknowledged that I was also supposedly the person who had skipped paying.

I regret not stopping a while back when I first started to feel uncomfortable with the service and the treatment as well as a few misses with the dish...

First time trying this family Thai restaurant as we hunt for a new Thai place in our new neighborhood. I'm an avid Thai fan so we eat Thai food pretty often.

When I lived in Chicago I worked at a very nice Thai restaurant downtown so it quickly rose to the top of my food list of favorites. Having shared that I have to say Chiang Mai was good, but nothing to write home about. The woman who took my order was very pleasant, but I think there was a little loss in translation when she took my order. Nothing too serious, but extra charges can add up quickly if you're not paying attention. Our food was super hot and it did taste good, but again nothing to write home about. The thing that actually was annoying is they use plastic to store curries in for transportation. When you bring food to a rapid boil, it should not then go directly into plastic containers. That just releases microscopic plastic particles into the food and then we consume it. There are paper based to-go containers and these are the ones that should be used. Plastics do nothing but pollute our bodies and the planet. I don't know about you, but I'm good on all of that.

To be fair, I went basic with ordering three different curries to try with the fam, no appetizers nor drinks. The kids enjoyed the food as I had ordered their Massaman Curry a level one spice. I ordered my Red Curry at level two spice and didn't find it overly spicy at all. Daddy ordered his Duck Curry at a one spice level and enjoyed it. Over all not bad, but nothing stood out as memorable. I'd like to try them out again with appetizers, a couple of stir fries, and Thai iced teas to be able to give a more thorough review.

Didn't take pictures because I just couldn't with the hot plastic containers. :(

  • Forgot to mention the prices listed on their website are not at all accurate. Paid over $40 for 3 curries....
