I would give big ZERO TODAY TO THIS PLACE Just got out of this place with most sad feeling. My first visit was like royal and today was like bigger. The son of owner took my order and was most sad and unapproachable. There was no smile or welcome greetings. No one seated us nor gave menu. I had to grab menu myself from table and stand at counter to place order. Once order placed, we had to find our own seating. Usually the owner offers traditional tea with full order in house. When I asked son about it, he gave me hateful look. I sat quietly at my table with my grandson. Also I was horrified to see portion of my order. I had taken same choice 3 times before today bit today was like half the portion of what they give. Yet they charged full price. I had also ask of water half way through our dinner. No one asked or offered anything throughout we sat to eat in. I made mistake to pre-place order for to go falafel which was pathetic in compare to other reputed same kind restaurant and got charged full price. Usually after dinner, owner used to humbly offer Turkish coffee. Today neither him nor his son even came in the end to check. Son slammed the check on my table and left. Got 10$ food for 30$ including hateful treatment from son for no given reason. I literally promoted this place to my every friend/family in last 2 years and also took multiple guests there myself. Never counted frugal in giving tips by putting on table than what the owner offered humbly of his free tea/coffee/small dessert. Today was my grandson's first visit there and we had most embarrassing and hateful experience. NEVER visiting this place again and have to warn every person whom I recommended to check here in past. My words can or can not matter to strangers but go at your own risk to be treated like a bigger even if you would be paying like a royal (which I always did in past. Today I was not even in mood to tip anything yet gave them and hope they Pay multiple in worse...
Read moreThis place was such a surprise to eat at. We were searching for some delicious shawarma for my fiance's birthday dinner and this place delivered and then overdelivered! We came in later around 7:30 (I did NOT REALIZE they closed at 8pm) and they still gave such amazing service even 30 minutes before close, which we are so grateful for. We started with hot tea service, and the tea with rose water, and sugar was delicious. Hints of floral without it being overpowering. The presentation was beautiful. The hummus is the best hummus we have had in a long time. My fiances chicken shawarma was delicious, with a side of creamy Tahini, spicy sauce, and garlic sauce to interchange with. I got the lamb specialty dish and I didn't realize how large this entree was. It was fall off the bone tender and a very balanced flavor. I loved the yogurt sauce in my rice, and I would add the spicy, garlic, and tahini with some bites. Since it was my fiances birthday, we were going to order baklava to take home but I took one bite and it didn't make it out if the restaurant!! Best I've ever had. The 2 men that ran the front of the restaurant AND COOKED the food as well were amazing and very talented. They gave us another dessert for free as we were walking out.... so generous and the coconut rice dessert.. also fantastic. We will be back many more times. Thank you so much for a great dining experience from start to finish, all...
Read moreSahara Restaurant is surprisingly good! I'd recommend it to fans of Greek food.
Food: The food is fresh and tasty! My wife and I have had hummus (which comes with pita), falafel sandwiches, and gyro sandwiches. The pita with the hummus is very fluffy and soft, while still a little crispy from being on the grill for a bit. The hummus had some fresh olive oil and a sprinkle of spices on top. This was also my first falafel sandwich, but not my first taste of falafel. Falafel is typically fairly band, but this had slightly more flavor than normal falafel, it was definitely the best falafel I have had, and it sandwich form, it was amazing. The gyro is on par with the best gyros I have ever had. I also had the first authentic baklava I have ever had at this restaurant, and it was an interesting and tasty dessert.
Service: The service was very friendly and reasonably fast.
Atmosphere: The store felt nice. It was a nice place for a date night with my wife, and the atmosphere did a good job at playing the part to set the mood to a...
