I want to update my original review. I had to schedule an appointment this Sunday at 3 PM. I’ve been coming to Zen nails for over three years. The manager Ricky showed a lack of professionalism, emotional control and class. I came in to have my nails done with dip powder. I requested to have my nails done in a sheer or translucent shade. An older lady with glasses and a young lady(approximately 12) Begin trying to find me a shade to suit my request. The young lady offered me shimmery shade that on the clear nail appear to be more sheer and not opaque. As the older lady began doing my nails I noticed that she dipped it several times and it wasn’t coming out as smooth as Andrea and a younger male had done many other times before. She must begin looking at my face and asked me if I liked it I told her it didn’t look as sheer as I thought and the young lady came over and and asked me if I liked as well I asked her if she thought it looked in sheer and she replied no. While this is happening The owner Ricky, comes over and asked what’s the problem. I’m thinking he’s talking to his workers not me so I continue to look down. Then I see that he’s addressing me and telling me that I chose the color and I would have to reschedule if I want my nails redone. I’m stunned because first it hasn’t even gotten to that point everyone kind of just was looking at my nails to see how we could adjust and he begin immediately saying that there’s all these people waiting it’s rude for me to request someone to redo my nails. At this point I didn’t even ask for a redo. I’m in shock that I’m being talked to in this manner , especially when the lady isn’t finished yet. Ricky begins talking loudly and then when I said why are you yelling at me when you are not even privy to any of the conversations that happened prior to you just coming in five minutes before and i haven’t treated you like that. He states “because it is what it is and I just want you to leave now.” I immediately raised up from my chair and stated you have lost a customer for life. Let me be clear I come here to feel at peace, Zen sort of speak, and that is not what kind of service that I received yesterday. I didn’t necessarily like the direction where my nails was going but I do not blame the ladies at all. My review is solely based off of the fact that I came here for service and I expect that service to be done well If I’m not satisfied I should be able to express that to the nail tech and we Be able to have an intelligible conversation. The owner, Ricky lacked honor and the fact that you keep sending these emails to customers talking about please understand that we’re in a transition and we’re opening our restaurant please stop it. I’ve been understanding when you guys have been running late for scheduled appointments or have not honored the appointments for specific nail tech that I’ve requested, but I will NEVER FORGET THIS. There are plenty of nail places around here that have incompetent, unprofessional staff. I thought you were different. Apparently, I had a lack of judgment. It really is true, stores are not nice to people only to credit cards.

I came in today for a gel manicure that was scheduled with a specific nail tech. When I arrived, I was asked to pick my color and then was sat with a different nail tech. I went the extra length to make an appointment, and am disappointed that my nail service was not with that person. Once I sat down, I asked the nail tech doing my nails if I could get a gel manicure with the exception of one nail (depicted below). I asked for this nail to have a tip added because it was short and broken. My pinky nails already had tips on them from my previous visit and I asked for those to stay on. The nail tech told me that my natural nails had grown long enough to take those tips off, and took them off anyway. I was not pleased with this as my natural pinky nails are still not at the length I want them to be. My biggest disappointment with this visit, however, is the end result of my pointer finger. It does not match the rest of my nails and was not shaped at all. I have really been struggling to find a good nail salon and my last visit here was so awesome which is why I rescheduled with the same nail tech. This visit was very disappointing because not only did I not get the nail tech I requested, but I was very unsatisfied with my nails as well. In response to the owner, My name is jena, and I left a review yesterday after the mistake that was made, I would like to understand who Ricky and Richard are, I made a requested an appointment with Richard both times and received two different people I don't understand what went wrong or who is who. And if you don't allow a gel manicure with tip extension why did it get done both times, why wasn't I told that couldn't happen, that could have been communicated to me and I would have been perfectly fine, the last time I went I got two tips put on, so of course the next time I come it makes sense I would think I could get a tip done. I understand you make mistakes that is totally fine we are all human, there are no hard feelings, was just disappointed with my outcome.

Honestly the worst manicure I’ve ever had. I went in with an old acrylic on. A couple had popped off and the others looked crusty. I asked for a new set. He said he would fill the ones that are on and give me a few new and I told him no thank you I wanted a full new set. He told me it would take longer. When I said “oh okay do whatever then,” he proceeded to RIP the acrylic off. Like RIP it off. It hurt so bad and I told him so. ANY other time I’ve gotten my nails done they at least soak them for a little to make the take off a bit easier no? I told him I wanted to soak them for a bit so he pours acetone in a bowl and sticks both of my hands in said bowl of acetone. My fingers started to turn white and crusty after a couple of min. He had walked off at this point so I went up to a few other workers and told them what was going on. Tried to explain to them that no one ever has just ripped off my nails nor told me to stick my entire hand in a BOWL of acetone, and proceeded to just say to me that it “depends on where you go “ when it comes to take off. Anyways. At this point I’m embarrassed and start to cry. I came in to relax and get my nails done now I’m shaky and crying in public. He takes a while to come back to me, starts to do my nails and by the end I just wanted out of there. My nails look horrible. I asked for a snowflake design and he said he couldn’t do it. I also said I don’t want a thick white tip and well whatever. And just wanted out. Worst manicure ever. Front to back. I will NNEVER go back. I’ve been a customer for 2 years. Such a shame.

I used to love going to this place. It was worth the effort of scheduling online and waiting for a technician. Part of that was you were treated like a guest and like your business really mattered. Now I am lucky if I'm asked if I would want a water or anything, and I feel like I'm rushed looking through colors. I legitimately don't know what happened to this place in the last three months but when I have a nail person roughening my skin and then just using cuticle oil and leaving it there for me to spread, as well as not even properly trying to shape the nail so they're similar? Nah. I'll go elsewhere. I'm so disappointed because this place was 5 stars for so long and was the only reason I went here. The staff seems to have vanished and the technicians seem to not even want to try to keep minimal conversation going. I'm saddened but I'll go elsewhere if I want to feel like a hindrance and at least get my hands lotioned. For $45 for a dip that looks minimal quality and wasn't even asked if I liked it? Nah. But also to have the gall to ask for a tip on top? Nah. I bartend and if you don't get anything maybe it's time you reevaluate how you served me and not get a mad look on your face. Shame.

Edit. 6/8 Went with a friend. Ended up waiting for my nails to be completed by a technician that would prefer to be on her phone while doing nails. Asked if she could focus on the nails since I didn't want to come back for a repair. Ended up having to schedule for a repair because, surprise. She missed the indent she set into the bail not watching. My friend had requested a paraffin and ended up getted blooded because of how hard their digging with a pumice stone... After sitting for 20+ minutes without a sugar scrub or anything with the paraffin wax pedicure. I won't be back. This place needs to be ashamed of their services and costs. What happened to taking care of the people that take...
