Cookie Plug — Restaurant in Indianapolis

Man….. this place is so cool and unique! The cookies are seriously great! It’s a place I’ve came to like 7-10 times just this year. I came in today, (8/24/25) and two women are working. The one taller lady made it known she’s the boss because she was telling the other woman what to do correctly. There was obviously tension between the two of them. I came in wanting to buy 6-12 cookies. But the atmosphere was so thick and awkward I didn’t want to stay in there. The boss lady, never acknowledged me, or greeted me. She just said “what you want?” Took payment, then when she gave me my single cookie she gave it to me in a way that just screamed “here you go now get out”. I don’t know../ the whole encounter was just awkward and weird. And it completely sucks because I’m writing this review while loving how good the cookie is. But i certainly don’t want to go back in there with that lady working there. The other lady there, the short one, she never said anything to me was just putting cookies on a tray to cook, but she did smile when she looked my way, and I felt bad for her for how she was “corrected” by the other girl. Sorry, but $6 for a cookie, I want to feel a little more welcomed and appreciated, or the least bit, not like my presence is a disturbance for...

Vibes are great. Food is fine. They're clean. The staff is kind.

The establishment doesn't take cash, but the process of actually trying to use a card on their Point of Sale system is another layer of hell. Both the customer and the hourly across the counter are battling a machine that is going to decline most cards, which is awkward enough, but then you're sent to one of those handheld card readers that works just as poorly. Be prepared to download Cash App in case of any errors, because that's how refunds were handled in my experience (Which despite it being 2024 still comes across unprofessional).

If you apply to work, expect to have an uncomfortable time negotiating AND Receiving compensation. At No point does the harassment staff deal with from triggered, opinionated customers feel worth the take-home.

Parking no matter which side of the counter you land on is always a nightmare. It's downtown Indy, so it's to be expected.
