Saturday lunch had fish tacos special, lobster nachos, clam chowder. Lobster nachos plentiful chips alot of shredded lettuce, Some slightly spicy chowder cheese sauce sliced red peppers (nice touch) and definitely some real lobster pieces. First time ever had this blend, and probably enough as an appetizer for 2-4 people large serving but enough for 1-2 people. Somehow would have enhanced the lobster/seafood flavor but a good twist. There was an option for two additional seafood components one was shrimp so might try that someday. Fish tacos the shell was typical soft and the medium/heavy coarse breaded fried fish were unusually shaped cylindrical rods so I thought overcooked dark breading and fish inside still slightly moist so maybe could have been fried a tad less. Sauce was almost a slight cilantro-like accent flavored and it was room temperature which I expected it to be warmer. The clam chowder was tasty for the clams with a smooth creamy sauce but not sure about the potato cubes they texture somehow were more soft than you'd expect in a fresh soup almost as if overcooked and hollow to the bite unexpected from other restaurants' but still enough firmness to be slightly bulky/filling. The fish tacos special were $14, lobster nachos $18 and clam chowder $6. I probably would have been happy with just a couple servings of clam chowder! Actually full after the clam chowder and half the lobster nachos and a little bit of the fish tacos, the rest saved for later. It was cold outside and wish the food itself was warmer temperature. The server was cordial and polite so no...
Read moreI'd normally give 2 stars for food of this price and quality - but I'll give them something for being the only place in town that I know of to get a lobster roll of any kind. If you're desperate for a lobster roll - this place likely wins out of a lack of competition.
Bottom line - Indianapolis is about as far from the ocean as it gets. Although they have live lobsters in tanks, the tank is labelled "not for human consumption". Leaving judgment aside - the lobster rolls are fairly generously sized, but, obviously, not nearly as fresh as you'd get in a coastal town. Seasoning is considerably worse than I've eaten in those towns. Overall, among the worst I've eaten. Maybe that can't be helped.
Our kids had the shrimp macaroni and cheese. Shrimp were unspectacular. Macaroni and Cheese is better than Kraft's, but not very good. At over $10 for macaroni and cheese and $22 for lobster roll - you're paying a high price for your disappointment. Add the parking fees, request for a 15% tip - and you can get a good seafood meal somewhere else. Probably within...
Read moreI’m sorry to be the bearer of a bad review, but this place is terrible. I paid $45 for the works roll with fry upgrade. Worst money spent ever! The lobster was very invisible… the sandwich smelled off. There was no butter, no seasoning… just four large ice cold shrimp and a scrap of blue crab meat. All semi frozen, all very flavorless and all tasting like water. The sandwich is a mess when you receive it, and even the coleslaw is bland. The best thing about my order was the frozen fries. I took two bites and threw the rest away. The person cleaning tables, stated that they would take my food back for me and complain… to get a refund. They noticed that I left a full sandwich on the tray as I was heading to the trash can. I will never come back to the garage due to this issue! My party of four, all selected four different stands to order from, to compare our thoughts. We all hated everything that we had and threw away our food, just to go to another locale to eat. It was a waste of over $135 spent there plus $6...
