Mills Catering LLC — Restaurant in Indianapolis

We contacted Mills about doing our wedding reception. We wanted plated dinner because of some elderly family members, a buffet would have been difficult for them to manage. Mills had the most reasonable approach to handling the process (I won't name names but another caterer budgeted 10 hours with all the extra hands for serving the plated dinner because they couldn't leave before the event ended. Talk about crazy!) And they had a reasonable price. I will say, we had some issues getting responses to our questions. However, we were emailing directly with the owner because he was shorthanded at the time. In the end, the event went flawlessly, so this didn't turn out to be an issue but it did cause some stress in the beginning. Matt was great at the tasting and the food was amazing. We were blown away by the salmon and the vegatable lasagna (no, really, that was my second favorite!). The sides were great and we loved the ahi tuna hors d'oeuvre. We were underwhelmed by one of our first choices for hors d'oeuvres so we switched it out during the taste testing meeting to one he recommended (pear and sausage skewers). We didn't get to try them until the event, but they were also amazing! They also made accommodations for our two lactose intolerant friends, which was appreciated. The staff at the event were wonderful. They did a great job passing the hors d'oeuvres during cocktail hour. They also preset the salads and the presentation was beautiful. There were a variety of rolls which was fun. The lead staff member for the evening checked on us twice (I wish I remembered her name!) And was very thoughtful, anticipating our needs before we did. The servers got all the tables their food fairly quickly, and everyone enjoyed their meals. Mills beat my expectations and their great staff and food contributed to the magical evening. My husband Andy and I chose Mills Catering for our wedding in September of 2021. We had growing concerns while vendor shopping because all of the rescheduled events from 2020 meant that many vendors' calendars were already filling up for 2021. We therefore realized that it would be best to act quickly and choose our vendors without procrastinating. Luckily, that was supremely easy in the case of Mills Catering. They were the only catering vendor that we interviewed, and the only one that we needed to.

Everything about our experience with Mills was simply amazing. The food at our wedding was just as delicious as the samples at our tasting. The staff were expert service providers who executed their work with confidence and calm, both of which were indispensable in the hectic wedding atmosphere. On the wedding day, the food and service were completely flawless, from the hors d'oeuvres, to the salads, to the main course! The staff was extremely efficient and polite and did a great job getting everyone served quickly. All the food was fantastic, but I think the beef Bourguignon with mashed potatoes was my favorite dish! So flavoral with the most tender, melt in your mouth beef.
