I was called by one of my children to come get them because they'll over indulged in drinking. The bar was spot on in cutting my daughter off from further drinking. Her companion had drank as well and was a little better off then my girl, but he had went back and asked if they could order none alcoholic drinks because they got partched while waiting on me to get there. When I got there I found my daughter's car and got out of my vehicle. I brought someone else with me to drive my car home while I drove my daughter's home. I never went into the bar, but it looked like a very happying and inviting place. Thank you for cutting my daughter and her friend off and allowing them to get non alcoholic drinks while waiting on me. I was impressed with that. Plus the bar didn't call the police on young adults for loitering while I'm waiting on me. I have taught my children no matter what time it is if you can't drive call me I'll come get you. The bar had asked them if they had anyone to call too. My daughter had started to say no then answered with an affirmative answer. I just wanted to give a thank you to the employees of this establishment for good service and watching out for it's customers. I got my daughter and nephew home both safely and...
Read moreA popular, historied bar, The Mouse Trap has become familiar to me through the witness of individuals from several overlapping niche cliques that frequent this establishment. As a karaoke freak myself, karaoke night on Mondays is my favorite event here, with a solid DJ and good P.A. setup, I always sound awesome.... at least to myself I do! Consequently, the live music is excellent for a small/medium venue. Most of the bands I tag along to watch are unfamiliar to me, as I am a generation older than my friends with whom I frequent 'The Trap', but the music scene is locally avant gardè for people in their mid-20s and 30's, and the shows are quite enjoyable even to this old Gen Xer. The food is above average, and the place has a friendly and loose vibe, even when packed with cliquish veterans. There is a game area with more than half a dozen pool tables and various bar games. This would be a great taste of the Indianapolis hipster scene for any out-of-towner, an easy socializing experience for any local, and a fun night at the bar for anyone who appreciates the tavern scene. Conveniently located next door to a head shop and across...
Read moreAbsolutely love this place, has a definite 1970s feel complete with music. Had me missing my bell bottom, jeans, long brown hair and ponytail. I was told they have live music, I think they said every day of the week. The joint has a really cool retro vibe. The Mousetrap is basically split in half, part pool hall in back. With the bar and music venue up front. The place must be really jumping, when the band is playing. I had a breaded Tenderloin and onion rings. My Tenderloin was as big as a ball cap, I think, larger and breaded and fried to absolute crunchy perfection. The onion rings were rather ordinary, but Lord knows the tenderloin didn’t care and neither did I. What great food and service. I will return to try something else, hopefully when the band is playing. That way, I can get the whole Mousetrap experience. If you’re looking for a laid-back atmosphere, complete with good food and a retro 1970s feel. Look no further you have arrived at your destination. Great great...
