I just visited the Great Wall Cuisine on North Keystone Avenue for the first time and all I can say is wow. This nice young lady promptly took my order- Beef & broccoli with the fried rice with a drink and she says $17 something. I found this restaurant on Google Maps so I had looked at their online prices before coming inside so it didn't register to me why my total was $17. I shared with her that it is my 1st time visiting then asked her about the portion size because their website showed me a different price. I said do you have different portion sizes and she looked confused and said she rang up the combination. I said ok then asked if they have good portion sizes and she said yes so I said okay you know that's fine I'll proceed. She tells me it'll be about 5 to 10 minutes I wait inside and while I'm waiting I grabbed the menu and I sit down. On the back of the menu it reflected $9.25 for the combination with fried or white rice & an egg roll. So I'm now like what did she charge me for. That's my question I ask her when she brings my food out.
She comes out and I tell her I'm looking at the menu and the prices are different from what I paid.. why? Are these menu prices not good? She proceeds to tell me that the beef and broccoli comes with white rice but I wanted fried rice so it's a $2 upcharge. I said wow ok so why didn't you just tell me that so I could make a decision if I wanted the white rice or fried rice after I told you this was my first time here...How would I know that? She's again looking confused. So yeah I never received an egg roll as the menu stated. The menu even say either/or regarding the rice, mentions nothing about this upcharge. My fried rice smelled funny & tasted disgusting nothing like what it should 🤮 but thankfully my entree was hot, fresh & yummy. 😋 I'll never go back again personally because of their shady pricing practices. The price should be the price no matter in person or online. I mean what she said still doesn't explain what I paid. Just beware of the price if you choose to patron better yet just order online. The prices are...
Read moreI called and spoke with a woman. Tried to order sesame tofu. She said she would ask the kitchen if it was possible. I was placed on hold for 10 minutes and ended up hanging up because it was odd to be on hold for so long. I called back to confirm my order and a man answered. I asked if the woman had asked the kitchen about the sesame tofu and he seemed confused. While I'm on the phone with him a number from Atlanta, GA is calling me so I hung up and answred. It was the woman again calling from a different number than the one listed here. It was all very strange as if they weren't in the same restuarant. Bottom line, even if the food would have been good, the experience was very odd (scam vibes almost) thus we ordered from happy dragon because I'm always a happy dragon when I get...
Read moreI only eat here occasionally. Normally ordering their broccoli and chicken lunch special. Their food is serviceable. It meets my cravings but probably would not impress a foodie. My biggest issue with them is that their dishes are rice heavy. I understand that rice is less expensive than either chicken or broccoli, but they shouldn’t make the fact they are trying to save money so obvious. Today my order came with extra chicken, and it looked like an amount of chicken I should have normally received. They have messed up my last two orders but to their credit have rectified both issues. The restaurant is always spotless whenever I pick up my order. And the staff is...
