KFC — Restaurant in Indio

I never usually make low grades for reviews. This one however is an exception. I ordered a 12 piece meal that they promised will be ready after 20 minutes due to the lack of dark meat. I said fine I’ll wait. 30 minutes later they needed 5 more minutes. I waited back to my car and finally received. Now, I should always check what’s missing but it has been a long day. I came back to our hotel missing gravy on the mash potatoes, no honey packets which I requested, and the chicken were cold. My whole family were upset with me and ruined our vacation. We had a heated argument and fortunately we all just said to forget about it. We still had a good meal yet it was incomplete. I paid $40 for the 12 piece meal that was very unsatisfactory. Needless to say, I’ll just go to Poppyes instead. None of them are going to worry about this review so this is more of a lesson for me. I’m disgusted and disappointed. I ordered KFC through DoorDash and I guess this location was the closest. Apparently they didn’t have the kind of chicken I ordered and the Dasher called me from the drive-thru asking what I would like to do. I asked if there were any alternatives and that I was open to anything else really and they told him no. I then asked if I can maybe just get whatever they do have even if it didn’t surmount to the price I paid, I was okay with anything at this point because I felt bad for the Dasher waiting in line. They were not helpful at all and didn’t seem to have anything to offer me, mind you I ordered 10 items (a la carte) and they had nothing else to offer. I’m not really upset about not getting my food (I cancelled the order), I’m more upset about the lack of willingness to help or even to offer anything else. Well...this is a mixed review... I love KFC....but....the last time I was there...I wanted cole slaw...and got Mac n cheese....the time before that...I specifically asked for honey and butter for my biscuit...and got none.... Tonight...at 7:30 pm they were out of extra crispy....but I am patient...so watched the Rams game on my cell phone in my car while I waited for them to drop some wings and breasts....exactly 20 minutes later they brought my order out...apologized profusely....and threw in several cookies for the inconvenience....I still love KFC....but I wish they were a little more...
