First off if you don’t have over $150 to spare don’t go here. No one there speaks English past basic three year old vocabulary and cant explain how their predatory price process works beside saying yes or no. I would try to explain how the pricing works but I literally cannot explain it because I don’t even understand. They let in three beggars to sell random merchandise such as flowers and avocados. Even after saying no they would just stand awkwardly next to the table before we start to shoo them away. There was one couple who gave in because the beggar would not leave them alone but the waiters/managers didn't do anything. Reminder this happened 3 TIMES. I would get this out the way the food was solid and came out pretty fast via a robot. The lack of a physical menu and a terrible order process via online was very confusing. Just went here with six friends knowing it would be a bit expensive, so we were expecting about $150-200 check. But we were greeted by a $310 check. We were supposed be charged about $200+ for normal dinners but one of our friends ordered halal which is an extra $5 but for some reason they just charged us all for halal meals to reap another $25. So give or take we would pay $260+ tax which would have been acceptable but for some reason several hidden fees or very small print charges came out of nowhere adding another $50-60 gratuities for service they didn’t even do. The food was brought out by a ROBOT. Yeah we are a bunch of dumb tired kids who are trying to get food but this entire restaurant is extremely predatory, they take your phone number for ordering, they take back the receipt at the end, they have an extremely complex ordering process with a bunch of fine print and hidden charges that are super small. The prices of the food are represented at zero to give the illusion of only paying for all you can eat not taking into factor the multiple hidden fees. The whole restaurant ordering/check process maybe all fair and square but it is extremely predatory and pricey. I would never recommend going to...
Read moreThis is perhaps one of my favorite Korean BBQ places to go to at the moment. There's still a bit of wait time to be expected at most popular joints, but it's been bearable when it's less than an hour to be seated.
My first time was with friends and we were all new to the experience at I Can Barbecue. When you check in, they take down your number instead of calling your name. Once your table is ready, they send a text notifying you that it's ready. After getting seated, they set up your table with banchan, salad and plenty ofmenus for either regular entrees or AYCE. However, we came here to try the ayce, so let's commence!
We essentially went down the menu and tried a bit of everything that we found intriguing, hoping to discover a few favorites for next time. The meats we tried - brisket, beef tongue, beef short ribs, marinated short ribs, and marinated finger ribs. We found the marinated meats were a lot more enjoyable, but we did like beef tongue and brisket since we ordered repeats of those.
My bf and I recently came back with his sister and tried a few new options - pork jowl, corn cheese, house made soy bean paste stew, soft tofu soup and cinnamon punch. Everything was amazing and the quality of meats did not let us down. I was really surprised by the cinnamon punch since I was expecting the Korean rice punch, but this was really refreshing and served cold. The portions are really small, but I usually have it at the end for palate cleansing.
Most recently, they added a feature on Yelp to Join The Wait List. It's been extremely helpful to get a head start on the wait if you know you're going to arrive within 30 minutes. You will still need to check in once you've arrived or when you receive a text message, but it beats waiting there the whole hour.
I'll be back to try their pork options. They've got pork belly marinated four ways - spicy, curry, soy sauce and cilantro! See you...
Read moreMy boyfriend and I came here to eat, never having been to a place like this before. When we got inside, I joined the waitlist with no one else waiting inside. It took probably 10-15 minutes for someone to even acknowledge us standing at the front of the restaurant despite multiple people walking up to the booth and walking away.
Once we finally got sat, we explained to our server that this is a new experience for us. He started out nice and told us how to order. We ordered, and all of the food and sides let me just say were DELICIOUS. The food was delightful, I didn't taste a single thing I didn't like. When we started cooking the meat our server would come over and say we weren't cooking enough and nitpick how much meat we were putting on like he was getting frustrated, but he had never explained to us how to do it. We just did a little at a time of what we were going to eat. However, there were some foods we ordered and we were kind of confused how you cut it up, never once did our server explain to us the scissors being used to cut the cooked meat, etc. We called him over again to ask for a knife and he seemed annoyed and came off very belittling and just took the scissors from our table and started cutting the cooked meat. Like I said we have never done this before. After that interaction, he never came to check on us again. We probably sat for another hour ordering and eating without any interaction from him again. At the end a different gentleman (who was very pleasant) brought us our check. Everyone else we dealt with was very pleasant, just unfortunately those few experiences with our original server left a bad impression.
Other than that, the food is delicious. The price is very reasonable, I believe it was $38.99 per person for the dinner price, and all you can eat. We still had a wonderful experience despite the confusion...
