Sushi Rev in Tustin offers a unique and satisfying revolving sushi experience that balances quality with a lively atmosphere. If you're looking for fresh, delicious fish, it's a great choice, but be prepared for a few quirks. The standout feature of Sushi Rev is undoubtedly the quality of the fish. The cuts are notably fresh, thick, and flavorful, putting them a step above many other revolving sushi restaurants in the area. Whether you're grabbing a classic salmon nigiri or a more adventurous specialty roll from the conveyor belt, you can taste the difference. The rice is also perfectly prepared and seasoned, complementing the fish without overpowering it. However, the popularity of the restaurant means a significant wait time, especially during peak hours. Be prepared to wait for a table, as the high demand for their quality food often leads to a long line. Once seated, the experience is a bit of a whirlwind. The conveyor belt is constantly stocked with a variety of plates, and you can also order specific items from a tablet. Our waiter was very attentive, perhaps a bit too much so, as they seemed to be constantly checking our table and scanning our plates. While we appreciated the prompt service, it did feel a little intrusive at times. Overall, the good food makes Sushi Rev a worthwhile visit. The fresh fish and well-crafted dishes are the main draw, and despite the long wait and the waiter's constant plate-scanning, it's an enjoyable and memorable...
Read moreRecently opened amazing revolving sushi that is more elevated than Kura. They opened last week and it was a packed house at 7pm on a Sunday night with a 90 min wait. The interior is very brightly lit and clean and minimal.
There are three separate conveyor belts that have sushi cost $3.75 and a separate tablet at each table to order rolls, izakaya options, or other sashimi not on the conveyor that get delivered to you on a robot. The amount of fish they give for each piece is so so good especially for the price and the fish quality is so good and consistent! My favorites were the toro and avocado salmon. The salmon crunch and baked Alaskan rolls were large and very filling!
We ate roughly ~8-10 plates and 3 rolls and the total ran up to $80 which is a solid price for 3 people who were really full and satisfied. Really recommend this spot, would try to go during off peak hours! One thing to note is that they only served complimentary miso soup during their soft opening so they no longer offer...
Read moreI was so very excited to try Rev Sushi. I went to a similar place in NJ no less and it was way more and way better. They even had robots for beverage delivery to our table. But I digress. Rev Sushi just opened in Tustin Marketplace. Maybe it will get better. It's very small and not all the automation is working yet. Plus their menu is very small and very limited. The portions are also small and except for the gyoza, pretty tasteless. Despite the crowd, we were originally quoted 65 - 95 minute wait, we got in quickly because we opted for a table that didn't have the lift-your-sushi-off-the-revolving-tray capability. That made it a lot less fun. So I guess what they are selling is a fun dining experience and super fresh sushi. I didn't think we got either. Sorry, Rev. In this case, NJ has it all...
