I no longer live in Irving. I can tell you this, that Chicken-N-Rice is on the top 10 list of what I miss most about Irving. I can smell and taste the chicken fingers as I text this. If you are hungry and in Irving this is the best by far place to go. You will love the price and the size. It is so good that when you order to go and you get in your car. You will reach in the bag and even though you know they are too hot to touch you will still try to eat one and burn your mouth. Happens to me every time. If you take one bite of a chicken finger you are addicted for life. No Twelve step program or Chicken Anonymous will help. You are hooked, just like the air you breath. Get the sweet dip and enjoy. You'll go back in 48 hours to get another dose. If you have not had one. I don't want to be the one who gets you started without a stern warning so I can sleep at night. Ones too many and a 1000 is not enough. I had a girlfriend who loved the place and we rushed to make it before they closed. She started to cry because we were too late. She dog cussed me all the way home. I had to move out of town to get away from her. Don't do what I did. STAY and take the abuse. The Police are a cut above. They are the highest life forms on the Planet. The jail and staff are top notch people that treat you with respect and work hard to make sure you are taken good care of. Just make sure you get there before they close and...
Read moreI stopped by Mr. Wong's Chicken and Rice off Story Rd hoping for a quick, enjoyable lunch, but left feeling more like I'd stumbled into a funeral home. Let me be clear--the food itself wasn't the issue. No complaints there. But the customer service? Yikes.
The young women working the counter had zero energy, zero engagement, and frankly, zero interest in being there. No greeting, no "thank you," not even a flicker of acknowledgment. It felt like I was bothering them just by ordering food.
To make matters worse, the vibe in the restaurant was absolutely dismal. They played a nonstop playlist of the saddest songs imaginable--from Sarah McLachlan's Angel to Evanescence's My Immortal. I came to grab a quick lunch, not grieve the loss of a childhood pet. It was a 30-minute emotional whirlwind I didn't sign up for.
Here's my advice: lighten up the playlist and give the staff some basic customer service training. The shift had just started--no excuse for that level of gloom.
I won't be coming back. Maybe the Lord is trying to tell me it's time to lay off the...
Read moreThis is one if not the best place ever for chicken and rice. Great service and Awesome food. Thanks for coming to Irving.Y'all are right next to the Krogers I shop at as well as less then 10 minutes from my house. So I can get lunch or dinner home and serve it hot.The staff is AWESOME and the food great. Hope you never leave and I spread the word about y'all to everyone I know. Thanks again and Y'all Rock!!!! Always very clean inside. If it's not busy you will find them cleaning the dining area as well as behind the counter. I have never had a bad experience here and I always get their 30 pc chicken fingers with fried rice (this trip I got a small fries and they were actually super hot) so we have dinner that night and lunch the next day (they are good cold straight out the fridge) one of these trips I'm going to try either the fish or wings. Looking forwards to seeing if they are as good as the...
