UPDATE 4/5/2022 Still love Torchy's! The service at this location is always good - friendly staff for sure! My husband and I come here a couple of times a month but it's definitely ALWAYS our first stop when we get back into town from any vacation or weekend away.
Love this place! Amazing tacos and queso. I get a side of their pickled onions to put with the queso... probs sounds weird but I love it.
I always order the Baja Shrimp taco on flour. My husband gets the Republican. And then we typically split the taco of the month since we're usually pretty full after eating allll the chips + queso. (Hands down my favorite queso)
Reviews of Tacos of the Month
JAN 2022 - The Midnight Cowboy Seasoned ground beef, potatoes, pickled onions, sour cream, jack cheese and cilantro with diablo sauce on Tandem Tortilla (crisp corn tortilla inside a flour tortilla)
FEB 2022 - The Scallywag 👍 Coconut-battered shrimp, bacon, green chiles, pickled onions, jack cheese, cilantro and scratch-made peach habanero jam on a flour tortilla
My absolute favorite taco! Coconut battered shrimp gives the taco a hint of sweetness that pairs so perfectly with the peach habanero jam, green chiles, and pickled onions! (I secretly wish it was on the menu permanently!)
MAR 2022 - The Roscoe 👎 Fried chicken, crispy waffle, fried egg and bacon with maple syrup on a flour tortilla
I always skip out on this one. I love a good carb but the waffle AND tortilla seem like too much for me. Maybe if the waffle was like 1/3 the thickness I'd be more interested in trying it...
APR 2022 - The Tokyo Drifter 👍 Teriyaki glazed pulled pork, fried wonton strips, sweet & sour veggie slaw, sesame sriracha mayo and cilantro on a flour tortilla
Very tasty! It has a hint of sweetness from the teriyaki pulled pork that is balanced out with the sriracha mayo. One of my top faves!
MAY 2022 - The Cougar 👍 Smoked beef brisket, corn relish, guajillo onion strings, BBQ sauce, chipotle sauce and cilantro on a flour tortilla
This one was really good! I just wish there was a bit more kick to it with something spicy.
JUN 2022 -...

Read moreI love Torchy’s tacos and have regularly come here for years. They are so consistently good. Mr Orange and Democrat are key favorites. Also, the staff is generally nice and helpful. 5 out of 5 stars for food and service.
The reason for my 2 star review is because of the update to their point of sale system regarding tips. In general, I tip 15-20% when a server comes to my table, takes my order, brings me the food, ensures my drinks are filled and takes my plates away. At Torchy’s you are not waited on. You wait in line, order to a stationary server, get and refill your own drink, bus your own table and clean your plate into the trash. They do bring you your food, which is debatably worse because if there is a mistake the person serving the food has no idea what you ordered and you have to walk back up to the counter anyway. However, the new payment system gives the options to tip either 15%, 18% or 20% - those are the only options. There is no “skip” so if you want to choose anything less than 15% you are required to hit “Other” and then key in a different amount - god forbid you don’t tip. It might sound like a trivial difference but the fact they expect you to tip at least 15% for service less comprehensive than at Chick-fil-a, where there is no option to tip, is frustrating. Is staff not compensated well enough? A lunch meal of 2 tacos, a side of chips and a drink is more than $20 so I find it hard to believe the restaurant is unable to compensate...
