Huge calzones! Enough for two meals easily. The crust was excellent on my pizza and on the calzones. I had the shrimp and cheese pizza and it was perfectly seasoned with excellent olive oil and garlic.
So why is this four stars instead of five? The food was wonderful, but I think I made the mistake of ordering a glass of red wine. I love a glass of red wine with pasta and pizza. But the Cabernet was undrinkable. I literally left it after drinking about a third. Should I have been ordering a glass of red wine in Puerto Rico? Probably not. But still, it should’ve been drinkable. It tasted like it had been opened for days and then perhaps poured that night. I know a lot of restaurants will not serve a glass of wine after it has been sitting in the bottle for days, but it really tasted like that is what had happened here.
Also, the service was not great. Our server seemed pretty disinterested in us. And we received our food from another person, and the original server never came by to check to see if we needed anything else or received the right order or needed more water or another drink or anything. Later, a woman took our check and she was delightful. But our original server just seemed grumpy and a bit bothered to even take our order.
Five stars for the food. Three stars for the service and two stars...
Read moreI really want to like the places I go to, and I only try to go to places with four stars or above. I would like to review both of the food, customer service and quality of drinks.
Food: 5 stars. The pizza was delicious and the ripe yellow banana was awesome as a dessert as well.
Customer service: I’ve got to say that although the young gentleman did his job which was to serve us as well as the person making our drinks, and I feel bad saying this but it is accurate, they totally lacked personality. Been dealing with him I felt like it hurt him to smile to us. If felt as though they were suffering while taking care of you.
Drink Quality: Both my wife and I ordered melon Mojito’s because we were told the melon was fresh. The melon was probably fresh just a minute likely since I saw absolutely no chunks or even super Duper tiny pieces of melon in the drink. That wasn’t the bad part, if you look at the pictures, they used old and rotten mint leaves. Mint leaves are supposed to be fresh and delicious and in fact they are what make a Mojito. I don’t understand why they did not walk across the street to the produce market to buy some more. This is a...
Read moreThe food was average Italian but the server was atrocious. We were charged a dollar for water which is unheard of, our food was not brought out together so half of our group was finished eating 10 minutes before the rest of us got our food. The server also forgot to put in two of our sides into the system so after half our table had eaten and the rest were finishing he brought out the sides. We made it clear that we wanted separate checks and had to clarify again when he almost brought out a single check. To top it off he charged one of us for a drink we didn’t buy. All of this added up made for a poor experience, but the icing on the cake was a mandatory 18% tip. I usually tip generously, around 20% but the server barely earned a 10%. He was not conversational or approachable, did not check on us once, did not smile. I’m not saying that this is absolutely necessary but the server detracted from the experience in multiple ways and did not deserve the tip that was demanded. Overall a very...
