The menu was disappointing. It was so LOUD inside that you could not communicate with your server. The dining room experience was so frustrating that after waiting for an hour for our food we had to chase down the server and yell for her to please package our order to go. We walked to our condo which was only a block away. This poor review has nothing to do with food getting cold in transit. This poor review is due to the poor ambiance, and very disappointing food. The two fish tacos had no cabbage on them. Just some fish that was absolutely drowning in sauce. The side of grits that I ordered came in a tiny to go cup. Four small bites and they would have been gone… except that they tasted like they were generic instant grits out of a box from the dollar store that were microwaved for a couple minutes. Didn’t bother to eat them. Crab cake stack with grits. Same story with these grits. They were not any better just because they we’re accompanying a different order. The crab cakes had good flavor, but were completely soggy on one side and kinda crispy on the other. Edible, but not great. Po’ Boy with scallops was good- but the grits were pathetic. To have a good sandwich and then a gross side is disappointing. We had a drink at the restaurant while waiting and some hush puppies. Both were good, except for the atmosphere in the restaurant. Our bill was just over $100 plus extra for the tip. We will never go there again.

To be honest we were looking at the restaurant that's located above this place in a gentleman came out and gave us the menu and talk to us and we decided to eat here. They were very welcoming and the menu had everything anybody would ever want on it I think. I opted for a sandwich called the OG grouper sandwich and fries. It was by far one of the best fish sandwiches especially grouper that I've ever had in my life. If I didn't live so far away I would have got another one to take home with me it was that good. It was cooked and seasoned perfectly the bread was fresh and I just can't say enough good about it. My wife got the pulled pork barbecue sliders and I tried those as well and they were phenomenal. She loved them. For an appetizer we got the honey hush puppies with the honey butter sauce and they were incredible as well. The music was absolutely phenomenal there was a gentleman singing there and and it was really beautiful. Our server was definitely top-notch and did his job perfectly he stayed on top of our drinks and food the whole time we were there. It is a wonderful Deck with a beautiful ocean view and Breeze and just a perfect scenario to eat a nice lunch or dinner at I will go back for sureo

It’s the off-season. Lawrence’s just opened this year. You want local biz to be successful. But sometimes the experience is just so bad you need to warn others off. We dined on a Wednesday, and our server warned us that it was trivia night. Too bad she didn’t warn us about the food. There were lots of open tables and only 4-5 groups playing, but the PA system was still turned up loud enough to be heard from the beach. No way to escape it inside the restaurant. We had the Lobster Mac and Cheese ($24). The lobster sat on top, was overdone to the point of being so spongy it was nearly inedible. The Mac and Cheese was just a thick heavy paste with unremarkable flavor. Had the Shrimp Basket with fries (10 shrimp, $23). Again overdone, flavorless batter, unless you include the taste you get when the oil is well past time to change. When the Cole Slaw and a lager from Murrell’s Inlet are the best part of the meal, you wondered how $70 plus for this meal could possibly be worth it.

A Big Thank You to Hunter at Lawrence’s Seafood Company – A Truly Standout Experience!

During our family’s recent spring break trip to Charleston, SC, we stayed at an oceanfront hotel on Isle of Palms. On our last night, the hotel recommended we try Lawrence Seafood Company, conveniently located right next door. It’s a perfect spot for beachside dining laid-back, scenic, and exactly what we needed to end our trip on a high note. It was a Tuesday night, a little after 9 PM close to their 10 PM closing time and we were on the fence about eating since we were still full from earlier in the day. But we’re so glad we went! Hunter, our server, greeted us with a warm smile and immediately made us feel welcome. Despite the late hour, he was kind, patient, and incredibly attentive. He gave us thoughtful menu recommendations without rushing us and truly went above and beyond to make our meal enjoyable. A few days after we returned home to Atlanta, our teenage daughter realized she was missing her mini Tory Burch wallet and sunglasses. We called the restaurant, and guess who answered? Hunter! He confirmed the items had been found and made sure we were the rightful owners before arranging to have them shipped back to us via FedEx. Talk about going the extra mile—he truly didn’t have to do that, but he did it without hesitation. It’s rare to come across someone so genuine and dependable. Oh, and the food? Absolutely fantastic! The Spicy Mango Shrimp Tacos were incredible, my daughter loved her Chicken Sliders, and my husband’s Fish Tacos hit the spot. The atmosphere was lively and fun we were all jamming to trending country hits while enjoying our food and soaking in the beach vibes. There are still good people in the world, and Hunter R. is definitely one of them. From his exceptional service at the table to his honesty and kindness afterward, he’s a stand-up guy and a true asset to Lawrence Seafood Company. If you ever find yourself on Isle of Palms, ask for Hunter at Lawrence Seafood Company you won’t be disappointed!

Thanks again, Hunter! Cheers from A....

We came in today because the previous restaurant we went to had a 90 minute wait and this one could seat us right away. That must have been our warning sign. It took a little bit to be greeted at our table. Not a big deal because that seems to be the trend with restaurants now. We order our drinks, appetizers, and meals at the same time. We received our drinks. Our appetizer (nachos) was taking a very long time and we didn’t see our server for a while. When he appeared he told us our meals would be out soon, so we asked about our appetizer and he said that is coming also. We did order them at the same time so we figured they were just all made at the same time. Our meals came, our appetizer didn’t. We never saw our server again. We were almost done eating (was never checked on), my po boy had one bite left when I saw someone holding a plate of nachos looking at our table, then they ran back into the kitchen. The person came back out (without the nachos) and talked to a couple of coworkers quickly and then approached our table and asked if we already received our nachos. We told him no and he came back with them. We still haven’t seen our server since before our meal came out. Three people walked by and asked how everything was and we just said alright. No apologies or anything. When it was time for the check we still couldn’t find our server. So we asked the bartender and he was looking EVERYWHERE for him. He never found him, so he brought us our bill but it wasn’t split up correctly. A woman came back with our correct bill and said she took 5% off because our server failed to communicate that he had an emergency and just left. I don’t like asking for free stuff, but 5% was a slap in the face. I understand service hasn’t been the same since pre covid, but I can confidently say that this was the worst service and experience I had at a slow restaurant.

Side note: don’t get the nachos because they put all the cheese at the bottom and cover it in...

Super disappointed. My friend took me to dinner here, it was my first time eating at Lawrence's. She was very excited to eat there. We walked in just a little after 8:00. There were only a few people there so we asked if they were closing. We were told if he wanted something "fast", we could order. (What??) We looked at the sign on the door and it said they close at 9:00, which meant we had at least 45 minutes. We ordered the fish of the day (unicorn fish) and crab cakes. It came in baskets (not a big deal, but for the price, I thought it was ridiculous) We each had one beer. The crab cakes were good, the fish was good and the coleslaw was awful. The total was almost $75!! Anyway, as we were eating, they started cleaning, putting chairs on top of the tables and were sitting at the bar with their purses, ready to go. It was clear that they had no interest in making sure we had a pleasant dining experience. I was so uncomfortable and felt so rushed, that I did not enjoy the dinner. It was extremely rude and disrespectful. With the way they were acting, you would have thought we were keeping the place open for hours. After we were done (rushed), my friend was speaking to the bartender and they were behind her putting our chairs on the table. We literally walked out of the place at 9:07. The server was a sweet girl, but other than that, not a pleasant experience. For the price we paid, we definitely felt unwanted. **Also, before we went, we checked online and it said they closed at 10. Either way, we shouldn't have been...
