Had a strange, not great, breakfast experience. Came in to an empty restaurant, which being used to Roxy or West End should have been a sign that things might not be spectacular.
Coffee was pretty bad. I don't expect diner coffee to be great but this is definitely lowest tier.
After ordering, I was brought a small bowl of chicken noodle soup. I don't really understand why - at breakfast those flavors aren't really what I'm looking for. I tried a couple bites and it was okay - not bad, not great. Then, just as bizarre, the bowl was taken away without explanation. I really have no idea what that was about.
Country fried steak skillet - eggs were overcooked and not seasoned at all. The fried steak was adequate, not great or terrible. The hash browns were well seasoned and good.
I did not eat a ton as I wasn't impressed, just brought most of it home for my animals.
The place had a very chaotic energy for me being the only customer, as two TVs with sound on were competing with a loud radio from the kitchen. I was not a fan.
Service was friendly. Was given a punch card for 11th meal free but I can't see myself coming back when Roxy and West End exist and are superior in the same price range.

I came in at 820 based on timestamp of a picture I took and sent my partner. One other table came in around when I left at 8:45
Over medium eggs still have some runny yolk, these didn't. I've had seasoned eggs many places.
Soup was presented without explanation and taken away without explanation. How would you feel about...
Read moreNot bad for a fairly new restaurant. Places was spotless, staff was so friendly and welcoming. My two main concerns upon entering were the walk in the door and the ceiling fans. The walk in has an awkward slope to accommodate wheelchair accessibly. It is however, a trip hazard if you are a cane user or walker user. It is not a steady slope and it is rounded on all sides so it's easy to fall. I would recommend square off the sides and put up rails if that is passable? The previous tenants seemed to be okay with, personally, I had to stop going to this suite because of this reason. As for the ceiling fans, it made the food cold within minutes of arrival. We aren't ones to send food back, how patronizing. Staff may have been warm running around, I get it. Customers also have the right to have warm food.
Now the food. Definitely recommend the stuff on the sweet side. One person in our party had an omelette, she wasn't impressed. Those of us with pancakes and crunchy french toast were VERY impressed! Light and fluffy carbs loaded with crunchy sweet corn bits, lightly griddle fried and served with a touch of powdered sugar and whipping cream. What a glorious way to...
Read moreI really had to think about how I wanted to rate this restaurant. I gave it a 4 because 3.5 isn't available and it's better than a 3. The service was ok, the food was ok, the interior was nicely decorated and clean.
My wife and I originally had the idea of getting breakfast, it being a house of pancakes and all, but we opted for lunch when we asked and were told the corned beef hash is canned, which is my wife's favorite dish to try if it is housemade. I didn't bother to ask about the sausage gravy, which is my favorite, after that.
We ended up getting Philadelphia Beef and French Dip sandwiches, which came with fries, a cup of soup, a pickle & a couple of bites of coleslaw. With 2 sodas and a tip, we spent about $35. The food was served hot, and for what it was it was fine. My problem is that I think every bit of the food came out of a box, bag or can. I don't think a single thing was actually made in house, just assembled in house. For $35, I expect more, and l can GET more, a LOT more, at any number of places around Jackson. So while it wasn't an unpleasant experience, I just can't see myself going back because, again, I can do better with my...
